I have the Magna AEW3 conversion fuselage for the Revell ASW Gannet kit, but I fear for the integrity of my model shelves if I build it! May have to fit some steel I beams to stiffen them up...........  ;)

aw! ;D shush!  ;D I have an ID vacforms 1/72 gannet AEW3 fuselage & the aeroclub version of the same [but with heaps of WM]

can I have the steel I beams to weight mine down?

I think i have about 3 of the AllyCat Gannets, but i'll still get the Sword kit as that opens the way for more options such as folded wings, projects and whiffs.

Twin seaters have the seatbelts on the etch fret, single seaters do not.

Do they have them moulded into the seat pan instead?

No. Same resin seat as twin stickers.

Can't wait for this one. Such a neat machine. I guess if you guys have all these spares we should be seeing radomes attached to all sorts of aeroplanes soon ?

The not only announced the Gannet, they also announced a new 1/72 F9F-8P Photo Cougar! LINK!

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

Captain Canada

Oh cool. Love the nose on that thing !

Excellent! One of the ugliest PR aircraft ever, but full of Whiff potential.

How long before someone brings out a 'normal' nose for it?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

On a Hunter that nose would be almost obscene, but on a Javelin, or a 'different' RF-84F Thunderflash? Hmmmmm.......

Out of interest, are Sword kits limited production? By that I mean do they do one run then go on to other kits? If yes I'd like to nab a Skynight and a Gannet before they're gone :banghead:.

NARSES2

They are what one would call Limited Production in terms of quality (although the newer ones are good) but they do not tend to be limited in availability.

However like all things if you really want one then get one while you can as you never know how many they produce.

This whole phrase Limited Production is quite a difficult one to define now. Once upon a time I think we all knew what we meant, but now ? I tend to work on the basis that if the kits have no "holes and pins" to help with aligning parts then they are Limited Production . Recent RS and AZModel kits are LP by this definition but are great kits and go together better then some other kits I could think of even with "holes and pins" !

It's a bit of a tangled web :banghead:. I'm 1/48 by nature but everysooften a 1/72 catches my eye. Meng's Mansyu is an example as I had picked one up. When I considered a 'Hobbit' squadron I thought of buying some more, but they'd completely vanished.

There's a site in Ebay Germany with some now but the urge has flown ;D.

Thanks for the input, if the RS Airabonita IS limited I'll grab one.

The WIF boxing probably is now. Every man and his mate was buying them at the Nationals  ;D Although Hannants still have 11 in stock. Must admit if there's a kit I want but not quite yet I keep my eye on their stock numbers

Apparently the Mansyu is up for reissue in April.
