Sword trying to fill the gap before Airfix bite the bullet and do the early ones too?

If they're as good as the trainers I may be forced to buy one or two.  ;D

The Wooksta!

I've an F3 on order, but undoubtedly will have to order a few more before they inevitably sell out.  Although I suspect the Czech traders at Telford will be making a killing with them.

I'm far more interested in the Seafire II re-release.

IF Airfix do an early mark Frightening, it'll be a few years down the line.

Exactly, which is why Sword have jumped in there. Of course they have a lot of the tooling data for the early ones already, gleaned from the trainers.

Perhaps Airfix and Sword have co-operated on their releases ? Or is that just to sensible ?
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Will it ever ! Just love the look of that aeroplane. And I'm sure the radome will find a few good homes.

too sensible chris by half.

if sword were to do something like a USAF CH-3E with the rear loading ramp, i'd be more interested. the last new release
of their's I bought was the harrier T2/T4 series.

Sword are doing a 1/72nd Fairey Gannet AEW3

About time someone did. I had high hopes that Revell would grasp the nettle after their excellent ASW version, but no.

I just hope the Sword AEW3 is better than their 2 seater Harrier and Lightnings. A few locating pins, a bit more detail and a lot less PE would be a vast improvement, but I'm not holding my breath.

Chris Payne

Great news on the Gannet.

Discovered an issue with the Lightning single seaters.

Twin seaters have the seatbelts on the etch fret, single seaters do not.

Do they have them moulded into the seat pan instead?

I have an Alley Cat resin model of the Gannet AEW3 which will probably go together better than the Sword kit which unfortunately will not be available any more.

Must admit the Alley Cat kit was a delightfull casting. Sold mine on when I realised I'd never build it

I have the Magna AEW3 conversion fuselage for the Revell ASW Gannet kit, but I fear for the integrity of my model shelves if I build it! May have to fit some steel I beams to stiffen them up...........  ;)
