I won't ask what the toilet rolls for Jim

If I was cutting up two new kits at their price these days Id need a toilet roll as well.

Cant wait to see the completed build. As interesting as it is "gutsy".

A true artist does not count the cost

A little progress.
This first photo shows the subtle difference in the cross-section of the Skyhawk and Skyray noses. The white one is the Skyhawk.

Now the two seet nose is attached to the rest of the kit. There is some PSR to do, but not as much as expected.
I did not have to trim anything on the Skyray's fuselage.

OK guys, I have a problem. Fine those of you who know me personally would no doubt agree, BUT, this is a problem with this model.
With the two-seat Skyhawk nose fitted this model is already looking as sexy as anything.
The problem is that the two seat Skyray would no doubt have had the radar nose of the single seater, which is shorter and fatter.
See these photos.

I have two choices:
1/ Stick with the slim sexy nose,

or

2/ Go for what practicality says I should.

Well if it is a two seat trainer or even drone controller, it probably doesn't need the radar so I would go with the slim nose.

I concur with the right honorable gentleman from down under.
I always hope for the best.

Yup. There's about the same volume in both of those anyway, so it could probably have been shoehorned in if needed. Maybe a slightly smaller antenna, justifying the loss of performance by saying "it's only a trainer"?

Agreed.  Besides, its a Skyray.  Its supposed to look sexy, just like a 106. :D

Thanks guys,

you have convinced me to follow my heart and not my head. Lets face it I do have a preference for slim and sexy ladies

Onwards and upwards

Weaver

It's quite common for the two-seater version of an aircraft to have reduced avionics - go for the slim nose.

Nice project - the Skyray's always a looker and the two-seater Skyhawk is very elegant, so I'd say they were made for each other.

A little more progress.

What comes to my mind is how much it looks like the F5D-1 Skylancer.

Indeed! I have the parts set aside to attempt one of these myself. Hope it comes out half as good as yours!!
