I´m starting new WHIF project. Il-62 from VEB Plasticart, as czech version of NATO E3 Sentry.
I can use a plate from 1/72 E2 Hawkeye   Camo scheme as the Iraqi A50 Mainstay

Looks very good and sexy. But in the real world, this plane can not fly.
Prototypes of the BAC 1-11, the Tu-134 and the Il-62 - all three crashed due T-tail design after control loss.
AWACS variant with big radar need again modified and upsized tail planes for resolving aerodynamics issues.

But this ISN'T the real world, is it? The reason why we're here is that it's Whiffworld and 'normal' aerodymanic rules count for nothing. Perhaps karlik's IL62 has a trimmable rotodome that acts as its own tailplane?

(I'm not sure how many times I have to write this, but it must be in double figures by now <sigh>)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards
Kit

maybe, but here we are really in Whifworld, and I like it so.
Unfortunately, mixing these two worlds is a problem of Czech WI  :banghead:

Be that as it may, in the same real world, the Russians seem to have gotten the AWACS version of the  IL-76 ( a T tailed aircraft) to fly quite nicely. One assumes they have solved any aerodynamic problems
Loves JMNs but could never eat a whole one!!

little progress  :drink:
putty excess windows, doors /will re engraving/, added winglets
engraving on the wings - slow progress -  surface of plastic stings  :banghead: :banghead:
