Just in case you don't get over to the 1946 GB:

Here's a little something I put together in the last 24 hours or so I call the Beoing 337 Supercruiser, using a Minicraft B-29:

Enjoy!

What a spanking build ya got there.....!!  Civil stuff/airliners aren't really my 'thing' but I can see the work that's gone into it....H

IF YER HIT, YER DEAD!!!!

Hey Brian, why not! They turned B-17's into civil passenger aircraft. By the way, did B.O.A.C. use them as well?

So, did they sort passengers by length before boarding this thing? The seats in the back must have been well cramped.

You know you've just given Ryan Air and idea now, don't you  :banghead:

I can just imagine the size of the "premium" to get the front seats
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Stargazer

Fantastic! I tried to do a civilian B-29 myself, albeit in photoedit form, but I could never finish it...

Two small concerns with your "337": 1°) windows seem too close to each other, and 2°) load balancing. The wing and engines are way too much forward not to gravely imbalance the aircraft. Sorry, that's the JMN in me! But otherwise it's really a superb model.

Glenn

Hi Stargazer.....it could be a 'tail dragger?'
Glenn

Funny about those engines. Save for filling in some holes and giving it a new nose, the kit was built OOB. And yes, this one is a tail-dragger for sure!

It is like a faster Stratocruiser, may be his diference can be similar than the 747-200 and 747-SP.

Very believable.  You sure know how to pick 'em then turn them into better ideas.
Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.

Very interesting build I must say. Her top speed must be worth talking about!
I love how the sleekness of the B-29 shows in this too though I would've personally made the nose more conical (though that would degrade pilot visibility).

Not that I have heard of, only airliner conversions of B-17 aircraft were Swedish though I may be mistaken. Speaking of which, I found this book about them in the library the other day and it is well worth a read if you can; http://www.lonesentry.com/blog/swedish-b-17-flying-fortresses.html
