I will use this old drawing for reference for AX-2

Interesting stuff.

Can't you use a Gripen kit for the AX-2?

ysi_maniac

^^^^
Difficult:

- Air intakes are completely different and in different position
- Nose section in Gripen is not a circle but a rounded rectangle

In addition:
- Look at main wing leading edge root and canard trailing edge root; there is a gap between them. This, IMO, means that sweep angle of main wing is less than 45 degrees. So I am considering the wings of a F-16.

BTW, when I said to use that old drawing 'for reference', I meant 'to see relative positions' and to copy tail fin.

More pics soon

There doesn't seem to much at all about it. Even my copy of Jane's just says "This project has been cancelled".

In that first link, a non-afterburner EJ-200 is mentioned. How would the nozzle look like?
- without feathers?
- a cut cone? a cylinder?
- 2 concentric cylinders?

Your opinion, please.
Regards.

Good question!  ;D
Are these any help?

This one might give some clue:

(click on "Technical Features" for a good view of how much is afterburner).
And http://www.rolls-royce.com/Images/EJ200_tcm92-6698.pdf might help, as, possibly will

Thanks for your nice words!

Some updates

Front and aft parts of AX-1 fuselage are not glued yet

AX-2 fuselage is done with an old MiG-21. It was shortened and in the same operation cockpit was moved forward, cutting by the yellow line. Aferwards, air intakes were added.

Nice work so far!

What kits are you using?

Looking at what you did to the Fishbed fuselage, I seriously think you should build a variant of a Fishbed with intakes like that as an operational Soviet machine. Big radar in the nose and some huge, early radar-guided AAMs.
Cheers,
Moritz

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

What kits are you using?

AX-1
1/144 Arii Vigilante
1/100 Tamiya Phantom

AX-2
1/72 Unidentified manufacturer (same old mould than Academy or Hasegawa) MiG-21F
1/100 Tamiya Intruder (air intakes)

Final result will be 1/72, I think ;D
