Lol, you'd be surprised at the amount of friends & relatives that have said just that...

Brian (of Rickshaw fame), Aye, 'tis the 'infamous' Serco, although my part is with the TCS, that is Traffic Camera Services (ie: mobile speed camera operator).  I remain here in Victoria and no doubt will be harrassed at some point regarding the role but it's not something I'm unused to.

You better be careful.  One them speed camera jockeys was assaulted the other day over here in the West and his camera stolen and smashed.   Guess he snapped the wrong person?   Saw my first cammed up speed camera the other day as well.  Nicely painted green with even a small cam net arranged around it.  I only spotted it 'cause it was set up to record speeds of cars going the other way.  Cheeky buggers.   ;D

Brian, I'm aware of issues.  When I went to their information session, they passed a few pics around including one of a rear window stove in on one of their vehicles.  I'm not sure how it works over there, but we've got cameras mounted on the vehicle and a plexiglass cabin within the actual vehicle.  The system allows an operator to leave if they feel 'threatened' and they also supply a mobile phone, panic button and other safety items.  The button shoots a gps coded signal to the central office and the local Vicpol station for response.

That being said, I'm not overly concerned about the whole issue.  I've faced enough in my prison service to deal with issues if they arise.
