Cheers Simon!

I'll admit I was tempted to use Halfords P38 Isopon, as Lee keeps telling me to, but the smell was horrendous and for purposes of maintaining domestic tranquillity I decided to stick to the milliput. I think I fubar'd up the mix, I think I had too much of the grey component to the yellow component, it usualy refuses to set properly if there is too much yellow, so I wonder if too much grey component makes it go really hard?

I know what you mean about P38, I've used it in the past fo it's intended purpose as a car filler & it's pretty strong stuff & really can only be used in well ventilated space.

As to Milliput, I've never had a problem with it, I'm suprised when others do & I think it comes down to two things.  Firstly, you've got to mix exactly the same amount of each component otherwise you'll have problems.  The yellow part is the resin, the grey part the hardener.  Too much of the grey & it goes too hard (careful! ;)), too little & it never cures properly.  I put the two rolls together than cut across using a thin knife to ensure I've got the same amounts, I don't pull pieces off.  The second is making sure it's mixed properly, I roll it into a sausage, then in to a ball & repeat until the colour is even.  I then carry on for about the same again to make sure it's mixed thoroughly.  These rules apply to any two part epoxy such as Milliput, Aves Apoxie or Green Stuff, also any glues such as Araldite, follow them & you should be fine.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

You deserve a medal mate or at least a cup of tea at Telford

I'll hold you to that offer of a cuppa Chris, provided I get it finished for Telford!  ;D

Duncan

Hmm drinking the tea at the T I C is more like a punishment than a reward lol

It still beats receiving one of Chris' "sweeties" though!

Duncan

I had a very mature chile for tea yesterday

As opposed to an immature chile that tells rude jokes and sings rugby songs?

Well it wasn't very well behaved in public

Even though I know perfectly well what the finished product will look like, that still looks TOTALLY bizarre Duncan!  ;D

It looks more like a flying boost glider than a model of a real proposed aircraft, but with the spec it was designed for that's hardly surprising. Outstanding work and I'll surely oggle over it at Telford, well done.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

That really is starting to look the part, and will be even better once the cones are fitted fore & aft along with the tail fin, it looks almost HOTOL is in its current format.

Good luck with the engine pods and hope the suggestion works as that should nicely bring the Avro 730 life when its engines are added. Isn't it handy you have a long weekend and are at such a stage with the build   ;)

We'll see! ;D

Actually, believe it or not I've been taking notes & I checked up on this thread to see if I can steel your process, not for the bomber variant, but a project of very similar layout but about 3/5 again longer! :o
