I have passed on some of Coops213 camo what-ifs to the respective Sqn CO's, but so far no takers

Gotta love that.  But then I can't see many armed services considering that beyond maybe Finland.

Do you mean considering the Super Hornet?

They look good in my opinion - they are noisy though.  Have to listen to them just outside my office just about every day...

You used to make that same complaint when the pigs were still flying  ;D ;D

I could complain too, with all the M1A1's, ASLAV's, M113's and M777 that drive and fire around my home.

Nope, I mean considering using non-standard colour schemes for their aircraft.  Beyond the commemorative schemes we see now & then or aggressor schemes, the idea of doing something other than grey is a foreign concept to many 1st world armed forces.

Yep it's a noisy place - had to put up with F/A-18F's, BAE Hawk 127s, C-130Js, a USN P-3C and an OMEGA DC-10 tanker today...I suppose at least the C-17s, Eurocopter Tiger's, MRH-90s and E-737 Wedgetails were quiet today

Grey seems to be working quite well for them, a grey aircraft is quite difficult to spot.

Maverick

With all the various doo-dads that festoon aircraft, I wonder why they are so concerned with visual camouflage in the first instance.  Whether grey is the be-all and end-all is another matter entirely.
