Concorde rarely appears on the net in this livery, so here's my model, with some CGI aswell. I'm only 15, so apologies for the bad application of the decals :) Oh and seeing as i didnt have a gree screen, i used a blue sheet to make the editing in photoshop easier :)

Green Dragon

Never seen an actual built Braniff Concorde, very nicely done! The CGI is great too.
Was it an MPC or US Airfix kit? Don't think we ever got the Braniff option released in the UK.

No apologies needed our young friend.....you have already displayed more computer skill with this one post than I could ever hope for...I'm 43..!!! Its a great looking build there....be proud of it....!

A pity Braniff never bought any Concordes, that looks really good and the scheme suits the shape of the aircraft very well.

The only real change they made to the BA/Braniff aircraft when they reached Dulles was to apply stickers over the reggie so they became 'US Registered' during the internal portion of the flight, thus G-BOAD became G-N94AD.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Thanks for the comments :) Its the US airfix release, straight out of the box :) I've got a retro air france kit still to do, and i plan to do another what if concorde as a VIP/air  force one equivalant - any suggestions for features on the latter?
And the Braniff Concorde would never have been economical in the long run, seeing as it flew subsonicly. Just a PR stunt in my opinion, but cool none the less!

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Listen up and listen good you young whippersnapper - I am almost 4 times your age and I can't do anything that well, so you need to do two things: 1) Don't make apologies for being 'only 15', and 2) Stop coming on here with stuff like that and totally embarrassing me!

If anyone wants me I'll be practising my knitting.  :banghead:

Don't worry about being "only 15", that matter will correct itself once a year until you get to my age (59) or hopefully much further beyond..........

............and I'm mightily impressed by the blue screen technology!

I'd VERY  much like to see your take on an R A F Concorde of the Queen's Flight.  The conspiracy theorists would have it that whenever Concorde flew members of the Royal Family, there were  unspecified "defensive measures" added.    Now how about a Concorde F1A with royal markings and a full warload??

Hey there our young padewan....if I were to do a Queens flight one I would probably look at an inflight refuelling probe.....and probably as many pics of Air Force One to see if you can add any boxes/bumps/ariels from that that may be part of the defensive suite....I think a model of that with two or more Tornado F3 escorts would look awesome....!!!! Oh yeah....!!! Do it....do it now.......

Haha thanks guys :) I've started the next concorde (the current count is 5 1/144 ones, 1 built and 2 half built 1/72 scale ones (one is a bomber) and a 1/200 scale prototype model). I've found a kit for 2 tornados for £6 online, so they'll go with the the RAF transport concorde. I shall post pics of the build progress shortly. :D

your Braniff Concorde looks realy neat, excellent modelling, looking forward to seeing further Concorde models too, your RAF. exec one sounds really nice. Id go with a clean airframe, no need for ifr. when youv got transatlantic range, likewise any extra lumps and bumps, might only detract from the beautiful airframe. There was an artwork many years ago in an old RAF. yearbook of a possible VIP. Concorde in the then Transport Command blue stripe scheme and overall white finish (the airframe has to be predominantly white due to kinetic heating of the aluminium alloy structure) , looked really sharp too (a search for Concorde on here might bring it up ?)
Another possible and a 'might have been' was that the French Armee de l Air did actually look at obtaining one of the white tail examples as a VIP aircraft, definately be something different from the usual RAF, whatif schemed examples? again in a simple blue cheatline with roundels and a tricolour rudder?

best wishes, joe

Hi, thanks! here's the image i think you mean ( found it a while back and saved it, can't seem to find it on google anymore :

I also like the clean appearance of it - doesnt need much to it. I've added a couple of bits, nothing too major :

I've added auxiliary inlets on the wings for the engines, and a couple of bits such as the extended foreplanes at the front and a bulge on the fin and under the forward fuselage.

I plan to do it with landing gear down, with some tornados and a tanker, in a sort of diorama. I just need to get some acrylic spray varnish for the decals i plan to make - can anyone give me any advice on how to do it?

Almost finished the spraying, so more pics later tonight! :D Thanks again everyone for the kind comments :)
