Well, the FAA used to drive Phantoms, and they had Sparrows for them.  As for the decals, I'm sure you could ask around the forum if you haven't any suitable sets.

Maybe a scarely anonymous ie no national markings and a greyish, black veneer.

Only a few helicopter safety marking decals.   :mellow:

HMS Ocean is currently operating Apaches alongside FAA aircraft so its not that much of a stretch :)

and how about doing it in the new wildcat joint service colour scheme?

I would, yet when I check the swap shop, everything is in pounds, and living in america, I dont want to run people up just to send a sheet of decals over the pond.

But were they Sparrows or were they Skyflash (these went into service in 1978)

Sparrows.
892 sqn commissioned the Phantom in 1969, getting rid of them in '78.

Guys! I ran into a problem with the fleet air arm paint-The store nearby dose not have blue! How do I do a Naval scheem without blue?

Well the two prevailing idea's I have are a Fleet air arm, and a South Korean Air Force. But I am open to idea's.

I'm an American, I have British roundels but the only South K stuff I have is 1/32 scale so they would be big! PM me if interested  :cheers:

Yes mate....aware of that an the offer still stands if I got what ya need........be specific in yer needs...also sizes in mm so I can have a dig about....might be able to find stuff in diff scales.....if you say you need something for example 4mm by 9mm that says NAVY I can see what I got...... :thumbsup:

I dont want to rack up charges to someone helping me out.

I'll do some measurements tonight. Though the Kit is 1:48 scale if that helps.
