TSR.2 Bombcorde Escort

Hey, I'm building a Raf Bombcorde, and was thinking of doing a Tsr.2 Raf escort with it. What sort of Armament would it need, and what decals would be best to use? I know that xtradecal do a set, but am not sure what set to use.

Are you doing this as a fighter escort, or some sort of defense suppression type?

As a fighter escort, for a Concorde Bomber carrying a few nuclear standoff missiles. The concept is probobly stupid, but in their half-built status they look good together

1970 is too early for Sky Flash (the first British long-range AA missile, entered service 1978). You could look at the earlier missile proposals (air-launched Sea Dart, Red Dean).

your probably looking at a martel devivitive as the missiles there was plans for a nucular armen one but dont know who would have the guts to use one and get waay from it going off in time!

haha good point. Btw, would the production TSR's have differed in anyway from the prototypes? As in any major design changes?

Studies suggested that TSR2 wouldn't be to good as an interceptor/fighter, but as was mentioned, excellent as a defense suppression bird with anti radar Martel, and maybe the conformal fuel tank?

Quite like the idea of a TSR2 Bombcorde escort myself... lots of range, lots of performance, haul some missiles around to blow away bad guys at long range - yeah, I like that.

The two TSR2 fighter variants drawn up by BAC are both in my book - they were to carry Red Top but that's pretty short range so personally I'd tool it up with some Sparrows or Phoenixes and use the variant with the enlarged nose.
