I've inherited a load of old transfers and amongst them there is one marked for the old Novo Javelin.  It has an interesting squadron marking consisting of a horizontal red flash with a green leaf in a white circle about a third of the way along.  Can anybody ID this squadron symbol?

Hi there

I think you'll find that is number 5 squadron. There was a similar marking on their Lightnings as well
Oh to be whiffing again :-(

Yeah, sounds like 5 Sqn.

This one?  By our mate Clave:

Here's the RAFweb page on 5 Sqn, shows two different iterations on the Javelin as well as several other types:

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Its 5 squadron alright, I have most issues of that kit in the stash.
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Size (of the stash) matters.

Second one on that page.  Thanks.  You'll be seeing it soon in use somewhere else. ;)
