I love the way the advert says "stunning kits, amazing value" at the top, I can think of other ways of describing them...  :o

The Wooksta!

There's a wonderful four letter word I can get out of that (although I'd have to use a K rather than a C).  However, using it would get me banned.  Clue - it's Anglo-Saxon and the oldest word still in use in the English language.  Also, there's no Y in the selection, so lying would be lieing.

I'm certainly amazed. But not in the way they're thinking....

Cyberhobby have struck first and announced a range of models for the 30th Anniversary of the Falklands War, usual re-issues of the 1/700 HMS Invincible, Sheffield & Trafalgar SSN  plus a new 1/700 Type 21 Frigate - HMS Amazon (Hopefully they will include the others in the class with correctly scaled Exocets !!!)

Also announced is a Seaking AEW (would have liked to see the HAS2/HAS5 in Falklands scheme) and best yet to keep Aircav happy a 1/72 Seaking Commando HC-4

Oh dear oh dear:

1. I hope they're not modelling their "HMS Amazon" off that pic, because that's a Type-21 in Pakistani service, with Chinese SAMs in front of the bridge and different radar.... ;D

2. HMS Trafalgar wasn't in the Falklands War: she didn't commission until May 1983......

3. IIRC, AEW Sea Kings wern't delivered to the fleet until just after the end of hostilities....

An HMS Conqueror kit would be good. The Type 21 sounds good, though I'd think a Leander and a Type 22 would be better, as the Leanders served with several navies and the 22s are an important modern type (though they're now being retired).

Thats just a stock photo of the Amazon class, but would be interesting if they provided the bits for a Pakistani Navy version, personally i hope they include the decals for all 8 of the British ships and create a correct in scale Exocet rather than the over sized Pitroad versions.
I suspect the kit will be based on the original waveline resin kit done by Pitroad, the Leander class or Type 22 Broadsword would have been nice in plastic but i will settle for the Type 21.

Aye Trafalgar is a bit odd, just a cheap re-use of an existing kit, when they should really be doing Conqueror

Seaking AEW is acceptable as it war an emergency war mod based off an existing but shelved project, i would have preferred a 1982 era HAS2 & HAS5 in the their Dark Blue Grey scheme as they always do the RN ones as the later grey scheme or SAR  :banghead:

Well I suppose a Type-42 and a Type-21 covers all the types that people remember for getting sunk....

I wonder if anyone will ever have the nerve to issue their Brooklyn (?) class cruiser as the General Belgrano?

Hot on the heels of the Falklands War themed models come another new 1/700 Warship, this time something suitable to go with the Long Beach & Albany in the the form of a 1969 era USS Enterprise CVN .

Talk from the researchers providing the info indicates it should be a pretty accurate and detailed kit complete with full hanger interior, air-group is not confirmed but they are talking about 2 seperate addon sets to complement the kit.

I've got a few Revell versions of the Enterprise already.  I may pick up one, but I really want the version that she's spent the MAJORITY of her service life as, ie, with the more traditional island (ie, no billboards and no beehive).  Seriously, Enterprise looked like that for about 20 years, but for the last 30, she's had another look.

I realize they're doing that to meet up nicely with their Long Beach, but still...

I wish they'd do the 'Land Venom' NF3 as well, it's an absolute bitch converting a Sea Venom backwards.

I'll start saving now, it being Dragon..........
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)
