Beautiful!!! It's a damm shame that and Kit's PR19 can't be disp[layed together. It's really get heads turning!!!

The mind BOGGLES!  ;D

Sadly there's zero chance of me going to Oz, with or without the PR19 in my flight bag.

But perhaps Rick could build a PR19 or I could make a PR9 prototype? I even have the bits to do it, albeit the DB models vacform version, but that may solve the tail-sitting problem of the High Planes cast lead wings!

If you do, do it, remember to shorten the nose of the engine nacelles.  The RB-57D uses a much longer nacelle for its J-57 engines.

As for making my own PR19, unlikely.  I wouldn't want to be seen to be challenging our Sensei.  ;)

The DB conversion only gives you the wings and the different engine intakes for the RB-57D. It's meant to fit the Italeri B-57B kit AFAIK, but I have a couple of Matchbox PR9s, one Xtrakit one and an Airfix one too, should be enough.  ;D

As for making another PR19, you do need quite a stash of bits to do the 'a' version, the one I built first. The plain PR19 is a tad easier, but it needs those two RB-57D engine intakes mentioned above. The 'b' version is seriously insane though, you need an RB-57F and a TR1 to make that! Plans for all three versions are filed on here somewhere, darned if I can dig that far back though.

I got 'em saved if you want me to email them over? ;D

Excellent build indeed. I would've gone for a PRU Blue and EDSG scheme as an interesting twist - that would look really sharp.

If you could send them in a PM?  I'd interested in reading them for curiosity sake, if nothing else.

I smell an RAAF PR19 on the cards......................................................
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Size (of the stash) matters.

I refuse to confirm or deny that possibility...   ;D

The major problem with building another PR19a, the one that's already built, is that the engine fan/compressor stages were moulded to 1/82 scale.

Dave Buttress made a mistake when he first moulded the ones for the RB-57F and I was daft enough to buy the conversion set without looking too hard. Dave realised his mistake and remoulded them to 1/72 scale, so they're a LOT bigger now, as you can see iif you look at the front view of the PR19b in the plan set, they're HUGE!

I would imagine that making smething close to the 1/82 scale engines wouldn't be impossible, but you'd need a fair stash to dig through to get the correct size of fan and cowling etc.

As for a 'UK build' PR9 prototype, that's DEFINITELY on the cards!  ;D

What the fan/intake diameters on the PR19a?

As for the prototype of the PR.9, you are welcome to follow...  :D

Why not do an RAE PR9 long span in either the Rasberry Ripple or an Earlier scheme  ?

BRILLIANT! I like that very much.
Think I might do one as well (In PRU Blue of course!)

The British have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved". Soon though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross". Londoners have not been "A Bit Cross" since the Blitz in 1940 when tea supplies ran out for three weeks

I can imagine it in flight, and that happens to me with very few aircraft. Well done.

Maverick

Looks the part.  Just needed 'Roos instead of roundels to kick it further.

That's easily solved - Kit's version of this should have the 'Roos, and Rickshaw's PR.19 can have them as well. ;D

Once again, very nice indeed.
