Something that came together in the aftermath of the '46 group build. I suspect there are sound aerodynamic reasons for not have
a trailing tricycle gear, but I thought it worked for getting the Beaufighter a pair of Goblins, or something.

The backstory? In combination with a series of tremendous earthquakes in the US, a devastating series of meteor strikes from the
Urals to Spain, and the rising of R'lyeh in the South Pacific, the new year of 1945 looks a little dicey for Australia. Fortunately, the
Sentinals are soon rolling off the production lines, and thanks to early interest in Australian production of the Meteor, examples of
the engines are already in hand....

This is the old Frog Mk X, much abused. I was going to go with the original cockpit, but having removed the observer's station, I
thought it would make a nice replacement. The V-tail was cobbled together from the original pair of optional tailplanes-gives it a
not-quite-DeLanne(sp?) planform.

Lotsa rockets-the kit's set, and a set from a Frog Wyvern. 40mm K-guns outboard, a quartet of 20mm's under the nose.
Just the thing for squamous horrors on the beach.

It needs some codes, and the name "Auld Wombat" on the nose, but its pretty close to done.

Old Wombat

 ;D ;D ;D

Very cool, Doc!

... & you've given me an idea!

With a warload like that, it could seriously inconvenience any opposition.  What an unusual and excellent  model.

Nothing new under the sun, look in Google Images for Meta Sokol.

Interesting, sure packs a punch.

My first thoughts were "oh looks a little "De-Lanne'ish" must have been subcontracted to Westland"

Nice idea, and surprising solution.

Brutal looking bugger, although I must say the post title led me to expect a North African paint scheme.  ;)

I've always wanted to make a jet out of my Airfix Beaufighter. How did you make the engines?

I bet those rockets would make some Ancient One's geometry non-Euclidian.

Profoundly. ;D

The engines were nozzles? from a couple of squirt guns I picked up cheap at the grocery store awhile back. They were in the form of
a stepped tube*, and the larger end fit nicely into the bottom half of the original nacelles. The rest of it was fairing it into the right shape
with aves. The intake splitters were small planks of sheet, with the small bombs from the Airfix Mosquito modified a little to form the 'bullet'.

*Or two different diameter rubes stuck together.

Hehehe, chuckling loudly here.  ;D

Mrs PR19 is giving me one of THOSE looks of course......

Mad as a box of frogs tentacled blasphemies! And that is one hell of a weapons load. Though Shoggoths are known to be rather resilient, so perhaps it's only wise.
