Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

I like the "landing ship" idea.

Remember, though, that unlike true helicopters, autogyros need considerable FORWARD movement (albeit short compared to fixed-wing aircraft) for the rotors to provide enough lift for takeoff. I think perhaps a rotor-motor to pre-rotate the rotor, then a catapult for forward motion would do the trick to launch them.
My mind is like a compost heap: both "fertile" and "rotten"!

I believe theres some kind of clutch arrangement that means they need less room.

Didn't Cierva experiment with a clutch arrangement so that the rotor could be driven by the prop engine for liftoff?

Also, there was that (admittedly lightweight) autogyro 'spotter plane' that was towed along by a U-boot

Caveman

are those funnels really camera film cases?

tigercat

yup you could not so much now get them free from your local Boots they're very handy for funnels and also for storing fiddly bits.

In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.

Hms Scorpio has unfortunately suffered over years having fallen off shelf so she will be refited  into something new

Two in one - both thread and model necromancy...

Looking forward to seeing what your fertile imagination makes of it.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.
