Just been talking to author Jim Smith on Twitter ("X" :rolleyes: ) who says that he designed a winglet for the Sea Harrier, which still fitted on UK carrier lifts and gave a 15% reduction in transonic drag in the Bedford wind tunnel. Sadly, he doesn't have any pictures. I'm not entirely clear, but I gather he formerly worked for BAE or RAE in the late 1970s.

I suppose something like what was put on Learjet 28 would fit the time period, or perhaps something with a more angular joint.
