The Allison V-3420 engine was superior in concept to the DB 606 (W24) that never really became more than two engines attached to a gearbox. The huge Hellcat was more than qualified to assess any major engine, and I believe that this combination was acceptable. No exhaust leads that I've added the exit gates of P-47 style gas since I have thought of placing a similar compressor. I love this engine, and I wish it had been used more.

Ooooh now that is different, in a nice way
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Awesome ! Now that really changes the look of the old Hellcat ! Mind you, the paint and canopy kinda help too....That engine is one neat looking piece of machinery as well. Great job all around.

Did they ever fly the Allison V-3420?

And how is it superior to the DB 606, they're both two V12s geared together?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I just got back from the beach and I found all your messages. They are very kind words I thank them very much and would not know your opinion. It means a lot to me, since this device is actually one of my little treasures. Thank you all. with respect to the Korean or Vietnam, maybe prove a turboprop.

No, really the union of two engines only occurs in Allison. The DB 606 was to share only the gearbox, on the other hand, the Allison was used successfully (in regard to the motor) in a good number of prototypes such as the YP-75 Fisher or XB-39.

Wow! Excellent bit of work there, Pablo! What did you use for the cowling?
Some of my models can be found on my Flickr album >>>HERE<<<

Another great whif, Pablo.

You said this would have the exhaust/supercharger similar to the P-47.

Can we see a pic of the underside?
My mind is like a compost heap: both "fertile" and "rotten"!

I've been looking for pictures of the model below, and I have not found. The photos are from 2010, but soon, I will when I get home from vacation and I will.I guess you want to see the bottom vent, I did not put it, but in return the side air outlets are higher. Thanks

The cowling came from a wyvern. Thanks

Nice one Pablo, and very interesting to me, because I too have been looking at options to re-engine a Hellkat.

I'd looked at Wyverns, so it's nice to see the theory proven. I suppose the logical thing to do with the leftover bits is to put the big radial on the Wyvern airframe....
