Hey Guys, i was doing some research on Google when i Got an Idea:What If the SR-71 Blackbird or the YF-12A were used as the Basis for a Fighter Design similar to the Sea Dart? Does this sound a Little too Gerry Anderson for you or does this Sound Workable? Thinking i might try Such a Thing but if Anyone wants to Give it a Go,Be my Guest!  What Say You? thanks for Looking. Garry Anderson is a bit of a hero around here, all we ask is that you do him justice!  ;D ;D ;D

The Blackbird's fuselage is almost hull-shaped already, so you could deepen the lower part somewhat, and maybe shift the engines to the top of the fuselage? Or on some cool pylons, Fire Flash style?
Some of my models can be found on my Flickr album >>>HERE<<<

Replace the engines with slim pods (scaleorama'd supersonic drop tanks?) that house hydro-skis, put another retractable ski under the nose, then move the engines to the top of the fuselage as Pyro suggests.

There's a cheap'n'nasty 1/200-odd scale Blackbird kit around that you could use to play with without butchering an expensive kit to start with.

Or the Revell Snap-tite kit, not bad at all.
