Are you hoping to leave the top of the SeeWurger in Pips Priller's livery, but simply paint the float apparatus to match the rest? [edit--oops-just saw the VERY FIRST post here, saying that that was what you were going to do!]

Maybe Pips could meet up with Douglas Bader in a float-equipped Seafire.

BTW, I currently have the Jo-Han Me-262 and F4U Corsair, and chopped up one of their P-47's for my Brewster Bison "Phoenix build". I REALLY liked the Jo-Han kits (*LOVED* their flywheel-powered cars of the '50's, too)
My mind is like a compost heap: both "fertile" and "rotten"!

To try and change the seemingly obvious 'Priller-ness' of the original model I'm going to paint out the '1' of his '13' so it will now become aircraft '3' of the Stab Staffel of II/JG 77. It'll have the proper JG77 unit badge below the cockpit and some kill markings on the rudder, and I'll try and re-paint out the characteristic black areas just aft of the engine too. The upper surfaces of the floats will mirror the upper wing and fuselage scheme and the undersurfaces will probably be a lighter grey than the aircraft undersurfaces (RLM 3107 Unterseegrau perhaps?  ;))

In my history the Reichsluftministerium decided to use a three greys camouflage scheme for the SeeWurgers, because they operated from a maritime environment, and this was later used for the landplanes later in the war. (If you believe that you'll believe anything.......  ;D)

Great idea Kit, looking forward to seeing it finished.

Having tried that it looks just like I've tried to paint out the '1'.  :banghead:

I may re-paint the whole forward side of the fuselage now, and give it a new number. A yellow '3' would look good but that may need two decals, one over the other, yellow being so transaparent a colour.

The Seewurger's taking a bit of a rest just now, or at least a go-slow, as I'm bashing on with the 777-900 during many of my waking moments. I've been trying to to match the original colours that I painted it with, but that's proving rather difficult, presumably due to their age. I have succeeded in matching the lighter of the two fuselage colours but the underside colour is defeating me for the time being.

To make matters one of the tip floats has snapped off just short of the wing surface, always a problem with Rufes I've found, and I've made two of them before now. Some thin wire and lots of careful drilling ought to solve it, but it won't be easy.

I have all the time in the world, but do not forgive, not to finish this plane. ;)

MilitaryAircraft101

NOw all it needs is a longer pair of wings  ;)

Actually the build doesn't have much time Pablo, as it's intended to be part of the 'Alternative 1941' display for the WhatIf SIG at Telford on Nov 12th. But the 777-900 is nearing final assembly so soon I'll be able to gat bnack to the U10.

And it's going to stay the same span.  ;D  With my luck any longer tips would snap off in no time........

Talking of long wings, found this while searching through Digital Aviation Art.

That's the Me-155A version, before Blohm & Voss 'got at it'. It 'almost' looks elegant without the outer wing radiators............ almost!  ;)

The Wooksta!

No, that's the P.1091 before Messerschmitt himself merged it with the Me 155 to create the Me 155B.  The whole saga is very tortuous.  The Monogram Close Up on the Bv 155 by Thomas Hitchcock goes through the whole thing.

In between gaps doing The Monster and the F-6H I've also been working on the Seewurger now and then. So far I've re-installed the port float FOUR times! The strut is almost entirely cored with fuse wire now, and the outer paint coat is 50% superglue!

But now it's done and dusted, finished in the scheme of the Geschwader Kommodor of JG66 when it was based on the waters of Oslo Fjord at Fornebu in autumn 1941 and in the pale blue tactical colours adopted during that period.

Very nice Kit ---     I like the beaching trolley, where did that come from ?
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

It's a white metal kit and I think it was from Merlin, a LOT better than their plastic kits too! I got it to carry my Frog Rufe originally, but had to widen the front support as it didn't fit the Jo-Han Rufe float that's on the Seewurger.

Glad you like it, thanks.
