Hi
Bit of excitement yesterday, because of the high winds a building in Langley Moor collapsed on top of 15 cars, no one hurt but the Police, Ambulance and Fire Service attended as well as the Northeast Air Ambulance which landed in the car park of where I work.
I'd already had a chat to the pilot about the wind strength and asked about his limit on flying in it, as the helicopter crew got back aboard I got asked to make sure that no people and cars got to close, so there's me stood in front of the helicopter blocking the entrance to the car park and with a quick thumbs up to the pilot and they were off and away.

Hi Toadie,
I stepped back about 50 yards, the helicopter lifted off vertically to about 50 feet and the flew into the wind over my head.
All the best

What's the difference between God and a Paramedic?

God doesn't think he's a Paramedic  ;D

I stepped back about 50 yards,

That will be around 45 meters to those used to the metric system. :)
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Would that be gas, water or electricity meters?  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Yeah, ain't that the truth.  But its not always the medics you've got to watch out for, sometimes is the volunteers EMTs (one step down from paramedic) who've got that complex as well.

For your consideration (and slightly off-topic as well ::ducks the Mods:: ) :

@Scooter: How many lights you all need?

@Aircav: The guy who owns that Focus RS is going to be very very hacked off.

The more lights the better!  As a retired cop, I used to get called out to escort the fire trucks to calls since the people on the roads never seemed to see the lights or hear the sirens/air horns trying to clear traffic.  Half the time I used have to pass the cars and stop in front of them with my lights on and wave the FD around us, then catch up to the trucks.
