Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Can I (wipe tear from eye, straighten frock, tease hair - oops wrong event  ;D) in all honesty thank everyone who voted for me. It was a fun build and made me get a kit out which would have otherwise stayed in the stash.

Duncan you are far to modest. The only reason I won was because you split your vote !

See you at Telford, and yes more then happy to await what you can find - I'm shaking already as I know your evil mind  :banghead: ;D

Thanks again gents

Well done Chris, very nice.

Incidently (or even coincidently), there's a photo of an aircraft that looks very similar to your model in the latest Air-Britain Aviation World magazine. It's called a Firth Helicopter (registration G-ALXP) and it sat uncompleted at the College of Aeronautics at Cranwell for many years.

Apple Sauce! It is you who are too modest, you do not give yourself the credit you deserve, I've said it before, and I'll keep on saying it, you are one hell of a modeller.
Duncan

I know my limitations Duncan and from a modeling point of view that was the best thing that happened to me. Means I can just enjoy myself and I'm normally happy with my own standard. I no longer get put off by all the superb builds I see here and at shows.

Whereas you sir go from strength to strength

Never heard of that one Robert, but it sure does look like Chris' device! Interestingly it seems the Firth was developed from the Planet Satellite and used the 2nd prototype's fuselage as well! Must be one of the few, if the only, helicopter developed from a fixed wing aircraft.

Incidentallly the CoAe is at Cranfield, not Cranwell. That's the RAF College you're thinking of.

Now that's interesting. I'd never heard of the Baynes either until I saw it on Adrian Hampton's stand and he persuaded me to part with some shekles for it  ;D It's amazing what you learn on this site
