The Wooksta!

I'm looking for several sets of national markings for The Plan:

South African - Korean War era, either the standard SAAF type D style or the Springbok roundel
North Korean (sounds odd but not as odd as you might think!)
Pre-war Dutch

Thanks in advance.

I have some North Korean roundels from the Airfix Mig 15 - those any good? The only SAAF ones I have are from the Airfix Spit Vc, so they're probably not what you want. No Dutch triangles I'm afraid.
Some of my models can be found on my Flickr album >>>HERE<<<

It's the orange triangles.  The ones they were using in Europe in 38-40 anyway.

Nice to see you back, Tim.

Lee as far as I'm aware the Orange triangles wern't used until war broke out in September 1939 and at first they simply put a small triangle in the centre of the existing roundel. Harro might know for sure

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I have several sheets from an IPMS Nederland set that has the "color-wheel" style of Dutch roundel. If you know the exact measurements (British inches) of size you want, I can send them.

I also have the SAAF Springbok pentagon(?) type of "roundel", too.
My mind is like a compost heap: both "fertile" and "rotten"!

I know next to nothing about prewar markings; but I'll see if I can dig up some information.

Edit: The triangles were used from the mobilisation in 1939 until 1945. As far as I can find, they didn't put a small triangle in the center of the existing roundel. 322 squadron (formed in the UK) had both RAF roundels and triangles.

Interesting I've a transfer sheet with the pre war roundels that have a triangle superimposed. Maybe it was a one off ?

Possibly yes, or I've missed something in my quick search.

I'm wanting Dutch markings for an early Spitfire* (retaining RAF serial code) as a delivery machine in 1938.  Which would be the best ones to go for?  If they're the same as the post war roundels, I've actually got more than enough - I've a low back 9 going Dutch in The Plan.

*Already painted and stalled until I get the markings.  Onec those are on, quick coat of varnish, add wheels & prop and it's done.

Yep, at least no word to the contrary from the Dutch forum.
