....what would you do? Full double deck 747? Concorde "b" ? Modern day evolution of the comet? The TSR still in service?

Of course, it has to be relatively feasible, but if you could have one whiff that was real, what would it be?

A DHC Dash 7 as an amphibion. Stick on a planing hull and some floats, get someone like Winnebago to outfit the interior, and just go flying around the world.

Oh, just great - spend all that time convincing the CIA that the bloomin' thing doesn't exist, then go tootling around in it....

Still very high up the list of things-I want-badly-but-can't-have is a private "yacht" that I read about once. Far from the usual gin-palace, this thing was converted from an ocean-going tug: it had an 8000 mile range and a class-2 ice-rating....

Interior was comfortable (and VERY well done in detail) but not flashy or in-your-face: just a nice place to live. Back end had a helipad  for a Hughes 300 with a glass-walled jacuzzi underneath it. The space in between the pad and the superstructure held a small cabin cruiser, a small landing craft, a small sailing yacht (the owner's other passion) and a big crane.

That really is an "I go anywhere I want" mobile: the owner said they mainly use the helicopter for having picnics on tiny desert islands with 100% unborken reefs.... The cabin cruiser lets them go WAY up rivers and the landing craft lets them replenish stores and stuff just about anywhere.

My version would be slightly bigger (naturally  ;)), mainly in order to have a bigger and better helo: an MD-530 would be favorite. Not being a sail fan, I'd also swap the yacht for a minisub and the jacuzzi for a proper all-singing, all-dancing dive shop....

Okay, that bit was flashy: but if you had a jacuzzi under a helipad on the stern of your boat, would you want to admire the view or not?  ;D

My point about the interiors was that it was good-quality-comfortable, not a statement of "bow down in awe at how much money and little taste I've got". Not a gold tap to be seen, honest....

Swing-wing F-15N.  No other WHIF would be as awesome (well, other than operational F-23's, but that's neither here nor there, as well as the almost was of 87th FIS F-15's)

That would depend entirely on who was in it...

Great idea. I even thought it had been done for real until I checked the web... Mind you, this photo found on the web may be the closest thing you'll ever see to a REAL Dash floatplane whif, even if it's a Dash 8...  ;)

Flashy would be converting a battleship into your own private yacht. I wonder if the Americans would like to sell one.
