Looking good thus far.

What is the interior colour?

Brian, the colour is just Tamiya XF-4 Yellow Green. ;)

Not a exact match but quite close to the chromate used on our S-2E/G's.

Cockpit looks great!

For the figures, what do you mean by "different"? The Airfix Shorts Skyvan has military and civilian crew figures, so anyone who's built a military one should have the civvies to spare. They're in airline uniform type outfits: peaked caps, jackets etc... Usefully, they also have separate arms, so you can change the pose.

I was thinking peaked cap, cargo shorts & a Hawaiian shirt........ or something that could be converted into that. ;D

Well I cut down a regular pilot figure to give him short sleeves, so cargo shorts should be doable on the same principle:

You might be able to cut down the jackets of the Skyvan crew; more of an undertaking though:

Another place worth looking is the ESCI NATO Pilots and Ground Crew set: several t-shirted or bare-chested mechanics in there, complete with baseball caps. Could use their heads and/or torsos for a bit of Frankenwhiffery... ;D

The Matchbox 1/76th Jeep has seated blokes in a short sleeved shirts in the LRDG Chevy set and IIRC the Morris truck with jeep and anti tank gun set. For some reason I have the Jeeps from the two sets but never bought the kits they come from!?
Also civvy pilots are in the Hasegawa Mitsubishi Mu-2J kit, may also have a driver figure for a Toyota aircraft tractor (IIRC) as does the old Revell YF-16 kit. Think the Revell guy has a basebal cap.

Cobra: thanks for the inspiration!

RussC: I like putting quirky little details like that into my models, makes them feel like they are mine & adds a point of interest for anyone who decides to look closer.

C-119's are not new aircraft & I wanted that to show. Hopefully I have & will manage to do that on the interior, have it look a bit shabby with age without going too far & making it look derelict. The exterior I intend to (try) to make fairly pristine, with just a few oil streaks (radials, ya gotta love 'em ;D) & exhaust stains.

To everyone: thank you for your attention & comments, they are much appreciated!

For those interested: Ozara is a "Bengal Cat" with Asian Leopard Cat in her ancestry (14 mice in one day last summer - for the Aussies; yes, they were mice & not native ones, I checked).

She & Sierra both tried to help with my photography. Speaking of which: sorry about the poor focus but my little camera didn't want to focus on the model but preferred the background, even in macro mode.

PS: does anyone know where I can find some "different" 1/72nd figures for the crew and/or some 1/72nd wildlife? :-\

Love the cats.  I've had several as roommates.  Congratulations on the Mouser.

As for figures and animals, check for OO scale Model Railroading figures and animals.  They would be 76th scale which should be close to 72nd.

Edited the comment, I miskeyed my comments, sorry.

"Frankenwhiffery".... I'm liking the sound of that!

Thanks for the suggestions, folks. I'll look into them!

Hey, GD! Love those transport pilots/crew, might get a several of those sets... but they'll still need some Frankenwhiffery (man, I love that word ;D) to make them suitable for what I want in this build.

Them & the Fujimi Fire Engine & Flight Deck Crews.

There are a lot of "seated figures" available in HO train scale (1/87) that can be used as "kids" or small adults. Some of them are oversized, so would do well as "passengers" for your plane. The passenger space looks crowded, and looking through the portholes, the exact scale size of the people would he hard to tell. Go for some HO people--Preiser makes many, as well as some American brands.
My mind is like a compost heap: both "fertile" and "rotten"!

Old Wombat

No passengers on this baby, s-r, & I don't actually want anyone seated but I can re-pose & re-work (... Frankenwhif  ...) some figures into something like what I'm seeing in my mind.

All of the above is also true, though with somewhat smaller ranges, for HO/OO or 1/76th scale railway stuff. HO/OO is very common in the UK, but I have no idea what the situation is in Aus.

Preiser do 1/72nd as well as 1/87th: http://www.gaugemaster.com/search_results.asp?searchstring=preiser+%AC1%3A72%AC+%ACfigure&style=main&andor=View&method=kws&strType=Preiser&searchtitle=Other+Figures

Not much to show for the elapsed time but work & life enjoy getting in the way. :banghead:

A few last shots before I button up the fuselage - mostly just a few decals.

Hopefully progress may be a little faster now.......................................... but I doubt it!

Thanks for looking!

Guy. ;D

What a thrilling build this is! Can't wait to see more progress...

Thanks, Stargazer! ;D

Building has not quite stalled, yet, & I'm trying to keep it moving. However, I've come to the conclusion that I don't like the engines .....  :-\ ..... Something must be done!
