The Wooksta!

#195
I for one advocate a boycott of the style over substance trash that is Scale Aircraft Modelling.

You know, I've wanted to stay loyal to SAM post Paul Eden but I just can't - doesn't appeal any more.  To paraphrase Wooksta there's a lot of style but little substance (and to be fair to SAM they're not alone in that respect - so is it them or is it us?).

Anyway, what's he said then?

And I've just seen what I've done in that photo I posted - I whiffed a whif!!!  I took a series of shots of the table, stitched them together to form the panorama and posted.  In doing the stitch I inadvertently did a zwilling job on Kit's double-decker Tristar!  Here's a cropped image, but do check out the original:

Darn it, now people will expect it to be a '2 and 2 halves decker' in future!

I better get into the loft and look out another 767-300, 737-300 and an Airfix Tri-Star for the decals.....  ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Toyed with the idea of going on the Sunday but then decided I'd be better of building some of the models I've already got than buying more...

Its this sort of sensible thinking that will get your wif buttons cut off...............................and rightly so. We cant have sensible thinking, its the thin edge of the wedge. What next ??no more rubber ducks. Get a grip man.

There is no tongue firmly in cheek emoticon so this will have to do

There were other reasons too, and since I've now come down with a cold that was probably in the infectious stage on Sunday, you may not have been as pleased to see me as you think....

Anyway, as recounted in the relevent thread, I spend most of my "free" modelling time staring at the bits with modeller's block, so it probably serves me right....

Dave,

an excellent peice of photoshoping there, who would have thoght you could creat a WhIf without touching a model

As far as SAM is concerned I too became very disenfranchised with it when the current editor took over. I felt his editorial style was trying to make it into a clone of FSM, nothing has happened to chgange my viewpoint since then. Result, I have not renewed my subscription.

Had a great time over the weekend, so good to see so many of the guys (even Radish ).
AND, the SIG project for Cosford is still buzzing around in my head. OGL we need a floor plan of the target areas so we can work out the layout.

I was VERY disappointed the competition area was closed to the public until 3. A bit of an IPMS fail as lots of people who arrive early like me have to go before 3.

yeah, the comp area was so busy I didn't even bother trying to get in to view it after it re-opened at 3, real shame.
