well, the yearend draws closer and 2012 is sowly but surely coming to our doorsteps.
and i was thinking, what modelkits would you like to see released in 2012.

here's my wishlist for the new year:

-decent 1/144 F-16 (come on revell)
-re-release of Revell Arado E.555 in 1/72
-1/144 Airbus A400M
-1/144 2-seat Rafale & Typhoon (no resin)
-more luft'46 (re-)releases
-1/72 Gripen-NG
-decent F-35 JSF in both 1/72 and 1/144
-re-release of Revell Seakings in 1/72 and 1/48
-Lindberg's 1/144ish Graf Zeppelin Carrier (hurry up already  :-\)
-more WW1 aircraft in 1/72

there's lots more, but most were released or going to be released in 2011
on the bench:

-all kinds of things.

my wish list

1/144 rail guns
1/72 rockwell-mbb x-31 in plastic
1/72 Scaled Composites Model 281 Proteus
1/72 Scaled Composites Model 318 White Knight
1/72 Scaled Composites Model 348 White Knight Two (WK2)

Honestly, it's the honest ones you have to watch out for!!!

A good Supermarine Swift is long overdue. I'm getting tired of fighting with these Hawk/Testors jobs, the fit is usually good but the plastic is very thick and those engraved markings are a pain.

And, as I say every few months, a new Sunderland, particularly with the Mk I/II hull. The venerable old Airfix one is a nice kit to build, but it really needs to be updated.

I've given up any hope of an Avro C-102 Jetliner, but when the drugs kick (or wear off, either one) in I'll start demanding one again.

Weaver

A 1/700th Leander class frigate or three, that can make all the variations with alternative bits
Some more 1/76th post-war British armour to go with the Airfix/JB jobs: FV432s, Ferrets etc...

Extrakit do the Swift

Italeri/MPM are doing the Short Sunderland which is due soon but could be a shocking price

Try the Xtrakit Swift.  Italeri have a Sunderland I on their books, don't know when it's due.  OOPS!  Posting at the same time!!

My own wishes?  All 1/72:
- Revell repop of the Matchbox Wellesley.
- Airfix do a Shackleton (preferably an MR2/AEW2) and a Lincoln.
- Airfix release a series of good EE/BAC Lightnings at a sensible price.
- Airfix do a new tool Jet Provost T3/T4

On the go: Beaumaris/Battle/Bronco/Barracuda/F-105(UK)/Flatning/Hellcat IV/Hunter PR11/Hurricane IIb/Ice Cream Tank/JP T4/Jumo MiG-15/M21/P1103 (early)/P1154-ish/Phantom FG1/I-153/Sea Hawk T7/Spitfire XII/Spitfire Tr18/Twin Otter/FrankenCOIN/Frankenfighter

Fairmile D motor torpedo boat 1/72 Armament variations would give plenty of longevity and appeal much like the 2 versions of S100 that Revell did.

Airfix to start marketing conversion kits

1/72 plastic 3.7 inch AA gun

Yeah, forgot about that one. It isn't on the shelves over here as far as I know, I'm looking for an easily available one from a mainstream manufacturer, Airfix would be nice.

If I recall correctly the whispered price is outrageous.

The Wooksta!

All 72nd:

Airfix release a Spitfire Vb & Vc - to the same standard as the Ia and not the abortion that came out a few years back.  Not too difficult as they just need to do two new sprues for the wings and a new clear sprue for the later canopy. They already have the fuselage.

Airfix  release a Spitfire F21.  Means they'd only need a new fuselage sprue to an F22/F24.

Airfix do a Blenheim.  This is likely as they old tool has finally been retired and there's a Blenheim on the airshow circuit. Optional parts for the nose means they could get the whole family out of one mould.

AZ release that Spitfire 16 they've been threatening, although Sword have announced a Spitfire 9 and 16 for release soon.

A Lincoln from Airfix would also be very nice.  This means they could use part of the tooling to do a Shackleton later.

I'll just wait and see what goodies the Czechs come up with in 2012 (Airfix & Revell will probably spring a suprise as well) especially as the 1/72 Vautours are due any moment

Although a 1/72 injection Vampire Mk I would be nice (probably MPM/SH if it comes)

Repops - the old Matchbox Wellesley

Lenny if you mean Railway guns from WW1/II then Dragon do Morser Karl and I think one of the big German guns

Modern 1/72 injection Defiant, Viggen & F-106
I'll echo Weaver on the 1/76 or 1/72 British armour.  IIRC the JB Models site listed several kits that were in development, if some of them were at advanced stages maybe Airfix could release them? I vaguely recall a Rapier, Stolly & Bedford RL 3 tonner being mentioned.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Modern 1/72 injection Defiant,

MPM/SH do a couple of Defiants. Typical of the "limited run" genre but are nice. Pavla also do one, have one in the stash but not built it
