I've never seen that Airfix Corsair box art before Dork, terific stuff. I do lke those classic Revell boxes with the little "brass" name tag though

Same here, what a scene on the Airfix art!, own ship been Kamikaze-ed on the back end but flying ops from the front...hard core aviators, knowing there is probably no returning to that ship for a long time, if at all.

Now if it was a RN carrier he'd be able to land after the raid just in time for tea  ;D What with the armoured decks

Quite so! Matelots with sweeping brushes and a load of quick-set  concrete  and the British Pacific Fleet will be Formidable once more.

Yup it was the USN liason officer aboard who made the famous "after a Kamikaze on a US carrier it's 6 months in Pearl on a RN carrier it's "sweepers man your brooms""

Dad was an AA gunner on Illustrious and described Kamakazes as the most frightening thing he ever saw in his life and I've seen my Mum angry  ;D

My English master at Grammar  school  45 years ago    was one of the first to land back on Formidable after the Kamikaze  attack, and  did once admit to a group  of incredulous pupils  that "it's  not common to land on, and leave wheeltracks in the flight deck "   He also described his time in the Pacific Fleet as " better viewed in hindsight"

Think dad would have agreed with that

Of course there is the old one that - if it's not nailed down it's yours, and if you can prise it loose it's not nailed down.

I once read that the British Commander of the brief and fleeting British occupation of Indochina at the end of WWII described the even briefer Chinese KMT occupation of Indochina that preceded it, "they came, they saw, they took what wasn't nailed down and they brought claw hammers for what was..."  ;D

Amost all of them!  ;D

And I still have two of one of your choices, unbuilt too............  :o
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)
