Didn't Cumberland also play the Exeter?

The Graf Spee was played by a USN 8" cruiser with three triple turrets IIRC. Not exactly accurate, but then the Panzerschiffe layout was pretty unique....

Not to mention that the only three ever built had either been sunk or scrapped by the time they made the film.  ;D

In the film the Graff Spree was 'played' by USS Salem, Achilles did indeed play herself, but was then named the INS Delhi, HMS Sheffield played HMS Ajax and HMS Jamaica played HMS Ajax, all according to Wikipedia with some help from my memory at the time.  ;D

The Swan bow on Salem was always a bit of a giveaway.  Of course the scenes where the Kingfisher on the stern was shown also tended to give the game away as well.    :banghead:

Good movie though.  Loved the scenes where the light cruisers are steaming as fast as they can towards Graf Spee to get within range before she blows them away.   ;D

Phworrr!

(Yes, both.  ;) )

I wonder if I could get her to pose so I could make the model more accurate?
In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.

Of course you'd need to check closely on the various skin textures to make your model REALLY accurate........  ;)

Then, again, I'm not what I was in 1988, either! ;)

I googled Elvira as I've not heard of her before. Cassandra Peterson is now 60. The Wiki photo isn't too bad though....

Yep, Aunt Cassie still looks good.

Wish the box art pose was the same one as in the kit although that one is nice too.

With proper upkeep plus occasional updates and augments, a fuselage can remain first line for a long time..i.e. B-52, Nimrod, Tu-20, et al...
