I can´t stop to see this plane, but suddenly I had a doubt...was there some Merlin with weapons wich shoot  througt the propellers? The question is not about your plane, but your plane make me think over it.

No there were none. The Gladiator had two machine guns located on the side of the fuselage, and they were synchronized to fire between the blades. There was also one gun in each lower wing that was outside the propellor arc.

Yes, but the Hawker Fury have the kestrel engine and have two synchronized Vickers Isn´t it?

Beauty!  Could believe that was a cancelled project.

The single Hawker Hotspur prototype had a Merlin with a single browning firing through the prop.  It was the only Merlin engined aircraft to have one as far as I know.  You're right about the Kestrel Pablo, several of the Hawker biplanes had either one or two Vickers firing through the prop.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

It did indeed.

In what is certain is that this Gloster, in theory, would have overcome that problem. Maybe 2x12,7mm could have been synchronized for this model.

Ah, I see I was misinterpreting what you asked Pablo. I thought you were talking about a gun firing through the propellor hub, as in the  Bf-109. As far as I know there were no Merlin engines that were configured like that.

Yes, I meant it, but in this case, I believe that this magnificent biplane, deserves a poetic license for that specific fact

Not only that, but the "cheek" guns were positioned to shoot between cylinders of the radial engine! You'd have a different problem with the Kestrel/Merlin, but maybe, like the very early P-51's, you could have some MG's shooting from low on the cowling past the crankshaft.

Nice model, by the way!

And did you know that an Allied Gladiator fought an Axis Gladiator in Iraq?
My mind is like a compost heap: both "fertile" and "rotten"!
