Do you want the Mig-21 or Su-15, both in RAF markings?

Martin,
Sorry to be a nit but these are both MIA at the moment. I do have a Fleet Air Arm Mig-15UTI. But I would have thought the  "NAVY" titles might disqualify it from an RAF museum. If I turn the others up I will PM you.
Geoff.

Given my poor building rate at the moment, I think I should steer clear of giving firm comittments to tricky projects. Looking at those plans, I don't see a place for my souped-up Lysander, so I'll withdraw it.

Things I could do very easily:

1. Me.1111 (PM kit) to replace the Me-163

2. Red Arrows Fiat-91 to replace the Red Arrows Gnat

Suggestions:

The logical replacement for the SR-53 would surely be Freightdog's Avro 720? (I havn't got one...)

The logical replacement for one of the Lightnings would be Freightdog's SR.177 (ditto...)

The logical replacement for the Pucara would be a Bronco in Argentine colours.

The Me.1111 has been started....

(Not trying to bounce you into choosing it: I wanted to build it anyway).

sounds good to me.

We will get the ball rolling again once xmas/new year is out of the way. Ive had to put a lot of things on the back burner due to increased work commitments. That is going to carry on untill February when I cease doing two jobs and get 100% into my new supervisors role.

No Probs Martin.

I'm now looking at doing it in the "captured" markings of the Me 163 which Eric Brown tested, just to muddy the waters a bit further.....

Yes, the ideal outcome would be a pair of JMNs throttling each other over whether the underside was grey or yellow (all the photos are black and white and sources differ) without noticing that it's the wrong aeroplane.....

I think I'd pay money to watch that.  ;D

It's just occured to me (and yes I KNOW it's almost 4 am.....) that I have another candidate for this project already in build.

My Jet Provost T6, fitted with a delta wing for the initial training of Vulcan crews on 230 OCU, would make an ideal candidate to replace the Avro 707C that sits alongside the TSR2.  ;D

I better get a move on, less than 3 months to go and at least two models to build!  :banghead:

Progress, for want of a better term, to date here :-

How about replacing one of the high-speed experimental types with an Avro Z.101, i.e. a manned Blue Steel (real project)? There's line drawings in Secret Proejcts: Space Technology and Chris Gibson's "Vulcan's Hammer" book, along with a nice painting in the latter.

I'm not offering to build one because I don't have a Blue Steel donor, but I do have a Monogram 1/72nd X-15 that could donate its cockpit canopy (solid windows, I'm afraid) if somebody was serious about making the Z.101 happen....

I'm working on a couple of 'Cosford Candidates' that I'll post pics of in due course so OGL can give them the thumbs up/down for show.  One of them won't be what's probably the most obvious JMN bait and that is a Vigilante painted up as the Cosford TSR2, simply because I don't have a spare Vigi or spare TSR2 decals.  Any takers for the idea?   ;D ;D

Heheh, that's got to be pretty quick and straightforward to build........ ;D

In my stash I have a half built Airfix Vigilante and I could take the markings from the TSR.2 kit   I can certainly give the Vigi kit to anyone who wants to do this

Not sure I will be attending as there's been a hiccup with the dates I asked for at work. Somebody has moved to my team with pre-approved holiday and I am arguing that I put my request in before he joined so I should have those dates.  :banghead:

right, as far as the TSR-2 replacement goes. I am talking the Project canceled boys about getting them involved with some of the R & D projects. One of Geoff's OR339 scratchbuilds is quite likely, althou I like the idea of a "canceled" F-111K if some one wants to claim that.

For the Bristol 188, General Melchet's big hypersonic scratch build is an ideal shoe in.
But we need "replacements" for the Faiery Delta II, Prone Meteor, Avro 707, Hunting H126, The ejector seat testbed meteor, SARO SR-53 and the Shorts SB-5. And the Gnat F-1.

then we have the 2nd hanger to contend with................... every thing in there is up for grabs
