Okay, I'm declaring the P.7D finished. I could probably keep playing with it for another month, but as my Mum's art teacher once told her, one of the most important skills is knowing when to stop fiddling.... ;D

DAMN it looks good....... Well actually it's pretty rough around the edges, but whiff-wise, it's been pretty much one of those rare fell-together-like-it-was-meant-to-be ones. It's dead solid too, being a mixture of Frog and Plasticart bits. I so want to do another one now: an operational one with missiles and wheels up so I can fly it round the room...... ;D

Roger that Duncan, we'll have to eat the Jaffa cakes ourselves I guess..........  ;)

The third, and last, aircraft off my production line for Cosford is the original PR19, a contemprary of the early U-2s, thus the colour scheme and engines etc. See the recently updated backstory at :-

http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,22259.0/highlight,meteor+pr19.html

This version of WS773 is modelled during its period as a nuclear test sampler and carries the modified Meteor belly tank with the sampling intakes in the nose.

Lastly here's a piccie of all three PR19 versions, the black PR19, the grey PR19a with the smaller TF33 engines and the larger PR19b with the HUGE versions of the TF33s at the rear.

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Hmmm that looks rather familiar...  ;D

Glad you like it.
Remember the comments at http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,20085.msg283261.html#msg283261 almost 3 years ago?  Finally this is it.  Apart from your FGA2 there's an FG5 on the forum - all three use different wings!
And I agree with your comments about the Phantom wing chord - if I'd had an Airfix F3 in the stash I'd have grafted a GR1 nose on to it and used that as the 'base' fuselage.  I think the proportions would have been a little better.
However I have compensated by using a Phantom tailplane as well - so the wing/tailplne surface area is probably not too different from that of the actual GR.1.

You know I'm sure you could do something similar with a Canberra  ;)

Give me time  ;D

But it's already been done 'down south' of course, mine would just be a UK built version.

That makes two of us.

BTW Terry your parasol Spitfire is in my possession. It can do a few extra shows  along with Kit's Meteor PR-19b before I can get it back to you ;D
I always hope for the best.

Top day out.
Great weather, great setting, loads of interest in the SIG display (good plan Martin ) - and of course excellent company.
And there were no holdups on the roads.  Can't ask for very much more really!
Pics tomorrow probably.

with hindsight, I should have arranged a 4th table. but it worked with what space we had. even if the freestyle section was over crowded.
