You'll notice a cruise ship in the background in some of the photos. Though not *MY* cruise ship, I took a cruise around the Gaspe peninsula from Quebec, and the ship docked in New York. My spouse wondered what I saw out the balcony window when she heard an audible gasp from me--There it was, right next to us, the Intrepid!

I live in San Diego now, and of course have been on the Midway, but also the Hornet in Alameda, the Lexington in Corpus Christi, the N. Carolina, and the Pompanito (SF).

As a kid of about 13, I had dinner on board a carrier with future Doors band member Jim Morrison (his dad was assuming command of a carrier in San Diego--Bennington, I think--, and my Navy father took me to the ceremony!).
