Can someone please measure for me how wide a 1/72 P-40 fuselage is, just in front of the wing root?

Could also please measure how long it is from the tip of the nose back to the wing root?

I am thinking about something which the P-40 nose might be suitable for and I want to know before I invest in several of them.

Just another thought struck me, I could use a P-38's nacelles as a substitute.  Can someone measure those for me as well?

About 15mm wide and about 40mm from tip of nose to wing root  ;)

Thanks.  Thats about right.  Anybody with a P-38 to hand for measuring?

The Airfix P-38H is also 15 mm  wide just in front of the wing root, but the distance back to there from the rear of the prop face is only 21 mm.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

Thanks.  Looks like it will need to be P-40s.  I need the longer nacelle.  I think the earlier rather than later Kittyhawks, with the slightly shallower intake will be just right.  ;)
