I had.....among the many.......a plan to have Luftwaffe bombers based in Argentina  (FW200 and Ju290......) escorted by various two engined heavy fighters.....with various powerplants.......what camo schemes do you have in mind for any FAA a/c......

What would be their targets?

The Falklands are just about the only bit of Brit countryside in range.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I'd have to say other countries in South America with an eye to getting a foothold and starting operations against the southern parts of the USA.......would that be a third front of war.....? Brazil maybe to much to handle but some of the smaller countries or maybe even a sympathetic Mexico due to border disputes with the US.........maybe with wild promises of land gains in return for assistance.....?

NARSES2

I've written stories for the Newsletter on Mexico's conflict in Central America (built some models as well) and then War with the US. My scenario also has most of S America joining WW2 and ganging up on Brazil. All of this, plus the fact that the Japanese win at Midway, means the War in the Pacific drags on for a few years longer than in the real world as the US has to sort it's own backyard out first
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

-Kawasaki Ki-206 (Licence built Messerschmitt Me1099a, as a torpedobomber for the IJN)
-Kawasaki Ki.61 Tony (Cambodian AF)

-Junkers Ju290 (Tanker)
-...

Allies:

-A-1A Skyraider
-P-84A Thunderjet
-DH Vampire
-Gloster Meteor Night Fighter
-DH Venom
-Yak-15/23
-Supermarine Spitfire Mk.22
-Northrop B-35A Manta
-F8F Bearcat
-......

there are also various ships planned, including 2 German aircraft carriers, the 1/720 Graf Zeppelin and a 1/144 escort carrier.
im also having plans for a Soviet escort carrier, equiped with Polikarpov I-16 and Lavoshkin La-5FN (1/144 kits announced by Zvezda for 2016)
i also have some plans to scratchbuild some German helicopters in 1/72, but i still need to figure out what materials i need.
there are still loads more, but im still working out the details.
on the bench:

-all kinds of things.

The Wooksta!

Erm, there's nowhere to hang a torpedo under the P.1099 - the maingear retracts into the fuselage.  A Japanese Ar 234 with a torpedo would be more suitable.  Or perhaps a Bv P.194 with a Japanese engine instead of the BMW 801.  Which helps explain the inaccuracies in the Revell crew pod.

72nd Helicopters?  Try and locate the Huma kits for the Flettner 282 and the Fa 223 Drache

'The Southern Part' of the US is long ways from South America and there was very little along the
US-Mexico border in the period, hell there isn't that much now. Operationally the desert sections
of Sonora, Chihuahua and Coahuila states in the middle would be very difficult to reach and operate
in, lack of major roads then and now. The only logical fronts would be at the western Southern California
or SW Texas borders, in the former case, again difficult logistically for a Mexican/Nazi-South American
force - relatively easy for the US to defend; in the latter, easier to reach but also easier for the US to
defend. At any rate we are talking very long distances, large land masses and indigenous populations
with no love for either the Spanish blooded rulers in the capitals nor the Norte Americanos. Somehow
I don't see the Nazis racial views being popular with the Jivaro or in Oaxaca.  :-\

Watch the current DAKAR Rally coverage if you want to imagine operations in South America,
Central America and Mexico in the period of WWII.  ;D Just get rid of the transport sections
on 'modern' paved roads and imagine nothing but Special Stages.  :banghead:

I guess that Argintinian based aircraft could operate agains Brazil once she entered the war on the Allied side, but what would happen to the reasonable number of Argentian aircrew then flying for the RAF?
