This is my first and only one sailing ship i´ve built. It is a gift from my girlfriend, so it is named in her honor :)

When i looked at it and searched the net for other builds almost all HMS Victories looked the same... I want to make something special, thats when the idea sparked to give it red-black-white paintwork and custom sails... hope you like it :)

It was very challenging built because it is nothing like building jet birds, the biggest pain in the a**  was rigging and sails :banghead: but determination and gfs nagging  pushed me through

And the HMS Simmonia in all her beauty :)

here you can see all the rigging :D

More skill evident there than I have!  :o

I'd run a mile from a sailing ship kit of any scale, well built indeed.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

AAAGH! RIGGING!!    Well done sir, it's even more complex than a biplane.   I concur with the comment from the gentleman, quoted above.

thank you very much :) as far as i can tell, it isn´t that hard.. you must be patient and you need a system in rigging, there are many forums with threads about rigging...
This is my first ship ever, 1,5yrs of modelling.... if i can do it, you can do it too :)

DEFINATELY GO FOR IT  ;)

At a lot of UK model shows there's a club/SIG stand with a lot of sailing ships. I was watching the lady rigging her latest work at one and it both fascinated and frightened me at the same time.

Very nice work...I've got a Constitution sitting in my stash that the only thing keeping me away from it is the rigging.

dont worry... it is easier than i thought, you catch a rutine after few sails and masts :) it took me 60% less time i predicted... at the end, you´d be proud of your acomplishment :)

and sailboat is an eyecatcher in every model collection ;)

- i have Alex von Humbolt in my stash  with green sails... must think of something new... what about black sails????  makin her a moder pirateboat? :P or go with the unusuall green sails and think of new hull color?

A fine build, sir, most impressive. Now that you have the hang of it, why not try build some more?
May I suggest a very dramatic subject - HMS Victory flying a French flag as La Victoire?

You remind me I have a small USS Constitution in the stash that will be built with a short-lived paint scheme that was reported as a grey hull with the name written in gold script. A non-whiff "what the...?"
Either that, or in a WW2 whiff, with cut down masts, engines, and an armament of light cannon and anti-submarine weapons.
In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.

Which makes it even more amusing since she was, IIRC, Atlantic Fleet Flagship during the 1930s
