Strangely mate you started the original thread back in 2011  ;D

I'll look at merging it, when I remember how.

I remembered
Cheers Chris,
I was running on an empty battery so didn't have time to look, and yes, very Bedford looking it is too. The pointy bit is straight of the Tunguska , which I have done one of the military wheels kits of in 72nd scale.

A new 1/48 Fairey Flycatcher.
The resin Jupiter engine is lovely.

I'm thinking about acquiring one for the RAN. ;D ;)

This has twigged a memory of building a Flycatcher when I was a younger teen. Was it Impact or Pyro who had a range of 1/48 bi-planes ?

Both them, they were the same moulds passed across. I think a couple of Airfix's early 1/48 biplanes came from the same source too.

The original Impact kits were very comprehensive, even to supplying the rigging thread as well!

One does have to wonder how much better it is than the old Inpact/Pyro/Lifelike/Lindbergh
kit which can be found pretty easily for a lot less than $45USD.

Here's the Inpact etc. kit on Scalemates, with timeline.

I've a memory of one kit or another coming with a small "reel" of thread for the rigging but can't remember what it was

Cheers gents

Rheged

I can vaguely remember a Lindberg 1:48 Gladiator kit having a length of what looked like very fine piano  wire included for rigging purposes. I think I've still got one in the stash unless Rheged minor has already built it....it was one of those kits Home Bargains sold off at £1 each a few years ago.

Another one that was originally Inpact.

Looks like they may have modelled AV-2 as there's just a hint of dihedral on the outer wings.

Apparently it's difficult to do that aircraft, the one that crashed, with the 1/72 scale AMT kit for some reason. I haven't built mine anywhere near as far to find out why......

Ooh, this has potential: a 1/72nd scale Lance missile on "Future Releases" at Hannants:

The real-life self-propelled version of this had it's own M-752 tracked carrier vehicle based on the M-548(M-113) platform, and eventually, most NATO members that got these used that vehicle. However, imagine if they'd chosen to develop their own? You could have had British Lance on a Stalwart, FV.432 or Centurion chassis, or German Lance on a MAN truck or Leo 1 chassis.

I wonder if they will do a Hawk missile launcher with the FrankenSAM mods. Not sure what that would consist of. A Hawk battery connected to a Patriot radar? Or some other radar set? Sounds like a whiff opportunity.

Okay it seems like the self-propelled Lance is on the way as well, but there's no picture or price yet.
