Cheers for the info about the radar Red Tops folks!

From ebay today: 1/72nd Airfix Martin B-57B/RB-57E Canberra

Question: is this a reboxing of the Italeri kit?

The Wooksta!

No.  Airfix stupidly retooled their Canberra B(I)6 to a B57 in the late 70s, destroying the original in the process.  Hence no goldfish bowl canopy version in mainstream injection.  Ok, it weren't brilliant but better than nowt.

Lee's comments are correct ref the Airfix Cranberry. The tooling was butchered into the B-57 while Airfix was part of the Mattel empire. Aimed squarely at getting the brand a better footing within the American market.
For what its worth, the Italeri B-57 is a better kit.

May be we should all start putting down for a Canberra B-6 on the wish list that Airfix normally have on their stand at SMW.
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Don't forget they switched from the wish list to request forms, more organised but less successful as people were often inspired by seeing what others had put

However an Airfix 1/72 EE Canberra B.6 is crying out to be done and one i will be requesting

With a conversion kit for a PR7 included perhaps? Or as an add-on like the recent Valiant B(PR)K1?

Wish list for a new-tool B.6 sounds like a plan...

Bungle

Went on a spending spree recently ... mostly from Ebay

1/96th Eastern Express Bristol Britannia but I want the decals for the Magna Hunting Percival Pembroke (1/72nd - but hey who knows they may fit !). Not sure what I'll do with Brittania though.

Also got a SuperModels Cant Z 1007 Alcione - been after one of these for sometime.
An Arado E555 - soon to become a Yokosuha E555Y1 'California bomber'
talking of Yokosuha I also picked up Valom D3Y1-K - a bit basic but ...
Also on the Japanese theme  an A+V resin Tachhikawa Ki-74 plus their Rikugun Ki-93
One I'd never seen before MTS resin Kawasaki Ki-61-II - looks very nice with a brass fret and clean resin. Got this from Germany along with an FE Resin Fairchild 91 Seaplane.

Also picked up an MSV Sukhoi Su-12 - not my genre but such a weird but lovely looking aircraft just had to buy it. The opposite could be said of the Blackburn Blackburd - a rectangular torpedo biplane of 1918. Ugly is not the word - nice resin by Karaya.

Then there two cheap PM models the FW Ta-154 and the Horton Ho-229 A-1 (more Japanese crossovers ?)

And finally again an impulse buy an S-300 PMU Sa-10 Grumble missile lorry. No idea why - I don't do vehicles, still it's only the wife's housekeeping money, who needs to eat anyway ?

They got there ok then Andy ? Didn't realise a fellow wiffer had helped me with my stash scale down  ;D
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

McColm

The Brittana would make a great maritime patrol aircraft.
Won on eBay
1/24 Aoshima MGB Roadster with etched parts and chrome bumpers.
OO/Ho Lima Loading set with gantry container crane. I know this set was more of a toy, but with a bit of tweaking would fit nicely on my 'Inch McColm' project. Just means I've got to rethink the layout, from a continuous loop to an end to end (L-shape).
As to the roadster, I'm not sure if there was a V8 roadster ever built. I know there was the GT V8 and the RV8. I've seen enclosed headlights similar to the ones used on the Jaguar E-type and the Italians had a go at redesigning the MGB.
I might just build this one straight from the box.
