Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

From ebay:

Skybirds 86 De Havilland Hornet F1.

Went out at lunch to get an Airfix Spitfire PR19 (I need the wings for a low level one, the ones I have are all butchered) and could I find one?  Could I fairy cakes!  All three shops that sell kits don't have any in.  I would wait till saturday, but Friday is the final cut off for any construction work.

I know where there is some.  ;) ;D

I don't doubt it, but would I have it in my evil paws before saturday?  Anyhoo, I had a piece of luck last night.  I checked a Heller 16 box, thinking there was a part started one in it only to reveal a collection of bits for late Griffon Spits and a mint PR19 wing.  Result!  Knew I had the spares somewhere.

From the LHS:
1 tube filler, ironic as final construction is nearly over...

Well chuffed with that Skybirds Hornet.  Wonder if I'll find any at Telford?
