Fast forward to two weeks ago. Hobby Search have the kit back in stock, so I try for 3rd time lucky.     This time I make sure I keep and eye on the parcel tracking on both Japan post and Parcel force websites. £6 import duty and Parcel Force "Handling fee" of £14 (robbing individuals of questionable parentage!) paid, and it arrived today.
Be warned, the cost of the shipping is included when HMRC work out the Import duty. In this case a total Value of £34 for the Kit and shipping. And they appear to be targeting parcels from Japan for closer inspection.

A similar story to mine when trying to import the twin 'Sun Run' RF-101 kits. It's made worse by the HMRC's blocking tactics to stop people getting in touch with them. In my case a letter to my MP sorted those little *%£"£^ out in jig time, but it doesn't need to be like this, they are, after all, public SERVANTS!
