A few arrivals in the post today...

From the eBay Fairy:

1/48 Monogram "First Lunar Landing" Eagle module set.  Was a bit disappointed as the auction listed it as an original 1970 issue, but in fact it's clearly marked as the 1979 10th Anniversary Edition...oh well...still a nice find, still sealed in plastic.

1/72 Italeri B-26K Counter Invader.  Lovely kit!!

And from our very own "Aricav" Steve-TWO brand new Airfix Gnats...Steve offered to send me one, but apparently he lied!     THANKS STEVE!!
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Glad you got them ok Nick.
All the best

From a LHS I'd forgotten existed in the town where I used to work, an Airfix Strikemaster!

I thought they were out of production but it seems not. I could have done with one to assist in my Jet Provost T6 build for Operation Cosford 2012 or I would have had some scratchbuilding to do. Now it'll be a LOT easier.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

First of two Shackleton's has arrived

The first from a seller on Britmodeller, a Revell Frog-re-pop swapped for a series of Albatros WWI fighters.

The second for less than £9 from Ebay is an unboxed Intech version (currently winging its way to me)

I'm thinking Six engines.... extended fuselage ??

The Wooksta!

From Dave T is presume?  I always intended re-engining one with four Bristol Centaurus engines, possibly with five blade props.  As for ebay, a year or so back I snaffled two Frog originals for little more than a tenner apiece.

Anyhoo, yesterday saw a nice care package arrive courtesy of RotorheadTX, containing the following goodies:

Airfix Spitfire IXc (new tool)
Matchbox Spitfire IX
Airfix Spitfire Vb (light blue plastic, so I'm assuming it's a 1970s moulding and sans canopy flaw seen on all the ones I bought in the early 1990s.)
Assorted plastic Spitfire spares, including a complete u/c from an Academy XIV (that'll do nicely to fix the written off u/c on a Fujimi PRXIX)
Resin wheels (5 spoke hub and I'm assuming they're True Details) and a resin mk XII rudder (okay, it was used on the VII onwards but was refered to as the XII rudder in all the official documentation) which I think is a Quick Boost one.

Cheers!

yeap, what with me being only 5 foot six, having the services of a 7 foot giant to reach the top boxes on the Collectakit stand was most usefull

I wandered into local department store Beales this afternoon, and found they had a "sales event" on...

It seemed rude not to relieve them of their remaining stock of TSR-2MS kits... especially at £15 each...  ;D

3 x Airfix TSR-2MS

What an incredible 1/72 kit!!!    If detail's your reason for 1/48, this kit meets your demands and then some.
