Welcome back into the fold Aeroplanedriver, glad to hear you got the model bug back. As for for new or stash, well there are a couple of points to remember, you need to catch up with whats been released during your break from modelling as a few kits have come out that would be of interest to you and secondly after restarting you need the inspiration model to kick start you so that often comes from something new rather from current stash, although it all depends on what idea grabs you of course  ;)

Try saying THAT when you've had a few beers!  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

A Mad Max DB5?!??

Couple of evilbay wins.....a Hasegawa 1/72 Hind A for a bargain....just missing sprue E....not a great loss apart from the rotor head.....and a Revell 1/72 Spitfire Mk IV for a bargain....got a few more spits coming...,

Revell IV?  They never did one in 72nd.  You mean the Vb or the IIa.  The Vb is awful shapewise - no gull wing and the prop is suspect.  It's salvageable with a new wing.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS the Forces of Valour Spitfire IXc.  It's the worst Spitfire kit in 72nd ever and makes the Starfix ones look halfway reasonable.

Saturday saw me finally recieve a Brigade Spitfire Tr.9 from one of the dudes over on Britmodeller.

Army of One

Wooks.....typo.....it is the V with normal/clipped wing....got it v cheap....the others are...another of them and a SMER H.F.Mk VI and MkVc.....those 3 for £6.99....not bad methinks with a couple of £ p+p....
BODY,BODY....HEAD..!!!!

Again, both of those are pretty awful, being based on the Heller Vb which isn't the best.  They both have nice decals and the VI has a new sprue of bits for the HF version.  Both have nice shiny new canopies.

My advice is take these bits and put them on something better, such as the Airfix Vb which is pretty accurate shapewise.
