The Wooksta!

TBH, when I saw the artwork in the AEW book I thought about salvaging the built Magna one I've got from 2002.  I've got several resin copies of the Aeroclub Shackleton AEW radome.

I've just won a Polish kit 1/72 Shackleton MR3 and a mixture of A4 plastic card off eBay.
My plans for the Shack are to fit radials from a Constellation and machine guns off a helicopter gunship. The rear will have a M.A.D. boom similar to the Lockheed Neptune, underwing  pylons and wingtip ESM pods from a Nimrod. I'll keep the dustbin radar and use that on my Griffon powered Connie. If I can remove the Aeroclub AEW radome from the Connie, I could fit that onto a B-17.

Oxford are doing a Standard Vanguard in RAF colours now: they had a big batch of them to use as staff cars in the 1950s. No idea if it's in the sale though.

how was the ride on the PDSR, kit? or did you go to some other preserved railway thereabouts?

its been some years since i was on that railway, with the resident 50 [we'd had a pair of 58's down
from worksop]. ah! happy days!

off to antics shortly....
Keeper of George the Cat.

Mr.Creak

My Ye-8 arrived, as did the Art Model Yak-36.
Plus the Italeri 72 scale Typhoon (modern) from Waddo, and a Kitech F-18, Bedford tactical refuelling truck, MAN 6-wheeler truck, four turned aluminium 20 mm gun barrels, Airfix (Lee) AH-64D and Airfix Hind-D from ebay.
Oh, and a Chuggington (kids' TV series apparently) "quarry":

Once I've stripped the "working" bits and flashing lights and given it a new paint job it should make a very nice building for a mine head or something for 20/ 25 mm wargaming - a real snip at 6 quid compared to "serious" scale buildings.
What if... I had a brain?

Pretty darn good, we rode in the  ex-Devon Belle observation car No. 13 on the way south. I'd ridden in the SAME car back in 1951 as an 'unaccompied minor' all the way from Waterloo to Ilfracombe. 'They'd' have heart failure at the thought of kids doing that these days!  ;D
