From ebay, an MPC X-Wing, for what would have been a very reasonably price  :drink: had it not turned out to be part started, badly, which wasn't mentioned in the description... :banghead:

Whilst on holiday in England a couple of weeks ago i popped into the Modelzone store in the Butts center, Reading.
(I think it's called the Broad street mall now)  to get some Airfix Spitfire 22's, unfortunately they had none :banghead: but they did have an Academy C-97 Statofreighter for £9 .
I had no idea what to do with it, but a bargains a bargin right?  Anyhow showing it to Dad later on that evening he said to me what you going to make from that? (he knows I don't always build it exactly like it shows on the box ;D)  So I said Flying boat. 'cos if you close your eye's and squint a bit it's got a bit of Princess about it? Dad agreed.

The British have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved". Soon though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross". Londoners have not been "A Bit Cross" since the Blitz in 1940 when tea supplies ran out for three weeks

I know, read loads about the kit in the past but still always fancied one, ordered the Flower Class Corvette Agassiz book lastnight and I was thinking about doing her ramming a U-boot coning tower but I just may do her in a force 9.  ;D

It does, doesn't it
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I have a plan to mate a 1/144th Minicraft Stratocruiser with the bottom half of an Airfix 1/144th Boeing Clipper to make a Stratoclipper. However, I may never get around to it, so if you want to do it in 1/72nd, please go ahead! One difficulty is that the Stratocruiser's wing is too low, so you'd have to move it to a scratchbuilt hump above the pressure cabin. Not undoable, just more work.....

The Wooksta!

From one of the guys on Britmodeller:

Two Airfix PR19 fuselages (sans engines) plus tailwheels, doors and tailplanes.

The guy who sent them was the dude that did the spectacular Sea Whirlwind, the link for which I posted some time back (go and look for yourselves).  I asked if I could have the rear fuselages and they arrived yesterday.  Means I can do another couple of F.VIII contraprop Spits.
