Radish

Try looking in B&Q and other places for door knobs.
I've been building a B-17G in 1/72nd.....the actual addition of "the knob" was easy.....bodge a hole and fix with superglue.
Primed and ready to paint last November, it's still awaiting completion  :banghead: :banghead:

I need the wing tip tanks, planning an MPA based on a civil Connie. Anyone got any Airfix/Heller tanks to spare?
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!

The tip tanks off an Airfix 1/72 Super Connie you mean? If so I just may have......  ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Why not add bigger ones or underwing tanks?

Got my paws on the Heller 1/72 EC-121/WV-2 Warning Star. I'm thinking of using the engines from the two Br1150 Atlantic Revel kits and use them on the Airfix Super Constellation ,the rotating radom will come from an earlier whiff (E-3) with a E-2 Hawkeye stand. I shall call it the WV-2F.

I know where I saw the twin fin tail Lockheed Constellation look-a-like in a photo of the De Haviland DH -91 Albatross .
Only seven of these were built . The stats are similar to the early short body Connie .The DH-91 could seat 22 passengers .
My stash is full at the moment but I do have the Airfix Super Connie . I will fit four Rolls Royce Dart Turboprops from Heritage Aviation Models and source the De Haviland logo decals .

Additional info on the De Haviland DH-91.
Built in 1937 and scrapped in 1943, users BOAC and 271 Squadron RAF.
Routes Bristol -Lisbon ,Bristol -Shannon
RAF to Iceland ,long range mail transporter or courier duties due to its speed.
Same construction as the Mosquito ,made from wood .

How about a KC-121G tanker?

I just picked up an Academy KB-29A and an Airfix/Heller Super Constellation.  Move the boom over, add a boom operator's window, and under the wings and J-35s or J-47s.

I'm already building my own version using the Heller EC-121 and  Academy KC-97L parts to create a tanker, saving the Super Connie for a turbo jet powered sea plane idea  .

Good luck and go for it .

Hi Guys,
I haven't given up on a turbojet version of the Heller 1/72 EC-121 using the wings from the Airfix BAe Nimrod and tail section off a DC-3/47. The rotodome and stand is off a Hawkeye E-2 kit.
I have tried to build this before, but ended in the bin.
I will replace the tail section of the DC-3/47 with a twin fin from the Connie, after I have stripped the paint off it.
