The British have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved". Soon though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross". Londoners have not been "A Bit Cross" since the Blitz in 1940 when tea supplies ran out for three weeks

Fresh out of the paintshop!!!!! The colors are not the same as Richard's super cool profile but I'm so digging it!

What colors did you use?  Looks unlike most Canadian A/C I've seen.  This will look great with markings.

Thanks guys

QuoteWhat colors did you use?

I preshaded all the panel line with Euro I Gray(FS36081), then used Dark Tan (FS30219) and Dark Ghost Gray(FS36320) for the main camo pattern, all Model Master enamels. Not the same colors as in Richards profile, my paint job is based on his art work.

Until later,

I know it's been a while since I last posted any progress on my Canadian Rhino. Here's the latest and greatest.
Got her radome and cockpit area painted. Also got her drop tanks fitted and in place.

Side view   :tornado:

The pitot tubes on her tail are just fine brass tubing cut to length. As of now, just dry fitted not glued into place.

And this naughty girl.... She's inspired by My ASM-4's. First off, her weapon pylon is a shorten centerline pylon from Academy's F-15E. I'm using tubing to mount the pylon to the airframe. With a pair of dividers, I measured the distance inbetween the two holes where the centerline pylon would go (center of hole to center of hole). I then scribed a centerline on the new pylon and transferred the spacing of the hole of the airframe to that centerline then drilled two holes for the aluminum tubing.

The missile itself is a resin copy cast from a master part that I scratchbuilt. I gave her a coat of light ghost gray followed by a few coats of Future. Then she got her panel lines washed and stripes painted on (flat yellow and insignia red). The two seeker head panels are painted in MM Aluminun Non-buffing metalizer. I also added a steel pin for a pitot tube.

Here you can see where I drilled out the holes for the centerline pylon and place some tubing to fit the tubing from the weapon pylon. Also got to mask off the main gear wheel wells and paint them. Hate shooting white paint

TA-DA!!! The Drop tanks are mounted the same way.

The Sniper pod and a AN/ALQ-184 ECM pod are painted, glossed and washed as well as mounted to brackets.

The two inboard weapon pylons got some love too. Here you can see them all put together, painted, glossed and washed. Since the AGM-84L SLAM-shorties are soo big, I added a missile rail to offset them from the main pylon.(from Revell Rafale) Their are connected to the main pylon via brass rod.

Last but not least, the AGM-84L SLAM-shorties. Painted in Gunship gray, glossed and washed. Again, stripes painted on (flat yellow and insignia red). And like their big sister, the two seeker head panels are painted in MM Aluminun Non-buffing metalizer. And again, added a steel pin for a pitot tube.

Still more to come,

Looking good, if only I could get a finish like that. :banghead:

Wow. Super details, but I really like the touch of the Rafale drop tanks.
Whatever.
