If anyone has plans for a diorama involving a tractor, then you might want to get Old Tractors magazine. (No, this is not a Have I Got News For You guest publication!)
I was in WHSmith and for some reason Old Tractor mag was in with the aircraft mags. On the front it mentioned RAF tractors etc... Looked inside and it's part 1 of a series describing how and why the RAF started using tractors. Includes a nice shot of a Heyford being towed off a beach with a track equipped lorry, probably the earliest half track around!

But did it say WHY the Heyford was on the beach in the first place?  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I was thinking the very same thing
I always hope for the best.

experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Apparently (and you'll have to read the article to confirm this) the crew got slightly lost and the Heyford ran out of fuel so they put down on the nearest flat surface.
