I usually work in 1/72 scale and have dabbled in 1/24-vehicles , 1/144 hovercraft.
There are so many new kits in 1/48 coming out or have been recently released that I'm tempted to take the plunge.
Kinetic with their new F-16XL. The Fouga CM.170 Magister, that has to be Whiffed as a three seater.HobbyBoss Northrop/McDD YF-23.

Yes space is an issue, but a fellow Whiffer has solved that problem by creating an aircraft carrier- book shelves/shelving unit. I can be creative and decorate each shelve either as a hanger or add some scenery to it.

AZ Model has released a Russian IX UTI two seat trainer (7208) in 1/72 limited edition.

Another idea has entered my head, so I best get it down in writing.
Mach2 and HighPlanes do the big winged Canberra. With single or two seats. I was thinking of a four engined T-33 turbojet. Extend the wing by adding another engine spar.
Another idea was to use the wings from a B-17.
Just a thought, might already have been built by other Whiffer.

There is a collection growing on one of my topics. Adding floats to a landplane works upto a point. I know with my version of the amphibious Constellation, sometimes three hulls are better than two.
With the two Martin flying boats the Mariner and Marlin being similar. The better of the two kits could be kitbashed to get the different builds.
Most of the flying boats that flew in the battle of the Atlantic can be built.
I've always wanted to do a dock yard scene and this fits the bill.
Should make a start after Christmas when things have settled down.

Got to find a single or double room to rent, that way I can start Whiffing again. I found a place in Staines The Works Shop in the shopping center. It sells discount books, but tucked away in the top left corner are about a dozen aircraft kits. Mostly priced at £9.95 and most are Revell. The Tu-95 Bear in 1/144 bargain as I've seen these go for £20 on eBay.
There is another shop that sells childrens toys but their range is even smaller, mostly starter kits. At least you get: glue, a brush and paint.
I'll check out Tesco as there is a large store in Ashford.
Just getting bits and pieces for the Cenotaph Parade.

Best get a room by myself, that I can call home.

Captain Canada

Thanks,
Its getting better week by week. I should be moving out by mid November. Minium wages have gone up to £6.50 over here in the UK.
Still need to renew my passport and renew my paper driving license as it is falling apart. Next July will be working with the same security company, so my CV can be updated.
Although I did see an advert for tradesmen to work in Canada. I wonder if they need any French Polishers?

Only in Quebec......   ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards
Kit

There are lots of temp. foreign workers in Canada right now, mostly in the trades but also in the service industry. Out in Alberta there are loads of jobs to be had....

The Topol is Russai's mobile ICBM TEL (Intercontintenal Ballistic Misile, Transporter/Erector/Launcher), but in the Whiffing World I can't help but think, why not launch an aircraft instead. The kit comes in 1/72 scale No.5003 priced at $44.99, 320 injection moulded parts with no interior details.

This would fit in with the sea plane/flying boat theme. The concept car theme is something to fill the time when parts are drying or if I've seen something on the telly and thought 'got to build one of them'.
Bubble cars are making a comeback, the French and their quirkyness for small, outragous designs are hitting the UK roads. Only a question of time before Whiffers do their magic in plastic.
Still reckon my car land plane concept could work.

On the job front Royal Mail are recruiting for Christmas; sorters, drivers are in short supply.
Home delivery drivers for the large supermarkets and the surge in HGV drivers.
Unfortunatley my HGV license has expired, costs about £1000 to get a license, not too sure on the renewal proceedure.
However my renewal on my drivers license is going through, so the Trade Plates will be back so I can collect or deliver cars over Britain.

Captain Canada

The Topol would be a neat kit to see.

And good luck with the job prospects !

Its the calm before the storm, usually the first week of November there is a blitz of job vacancies for the Christmas and New year.
I don't have a HGV license, but I have my driving license renewal paperwork sent off to the authorities as my paper one fell apart.

Been watching YouTube, NASA. Interesting concepts in the next generation airliners. Might buy a few 1/144 kits and build some of their designs in my own style. They seem to have gone back to the T-tail and strut added to the underside of the wing connected to the fuselage.

In SAM Model Aircraft November edition there is an article on the Fujimi 1/72 F-35B and 1/72 Art Model Yak-141.
I still think a twin engine V/STOL from kitbashing a F-22 and F-35B is possible. Whereas the Yak-141 would be kitbashed with a Tornado F3. Sort of VG/swing-wing two seater V/STOL or using the spare wings from the F-22.
Or even a F-18 kitbash.
