Bristol Type 170 Freighter "Gunship" MK21.
The left over resin tail plane and rudder from the Magna Model conversion kit have been glued in place. Undercarriage parts from the Airfix Lockheed S-3A Viking glued under the nose and wing box. Glazing in the fuselage painted matt black and right internal fuselage painted matt black as well. Interior cockpit was tricky to glue in place. Upper fuselage no gaps lower fuselage slightly raised towards the rear.
Got some liquid weights for the nose doors.

The Carlton now looks as if it has a patchwork of repaired parts and panels. Across between the Shackleton Mk1 and Mk3 with the Mk2 landing gear. Still keeps that maritime connection.
Thinking of painting the airbrakes red as it would break up the olive green paint scheme.
I need to work on the canopy. Two green glass patches in the roof and detailing the cockpit. USAF decals would make for a period piece.

The Gunship has had the nose attached, may have over done the weight won't know until the wheels are fitted.

With the success of the two Airfix Bristol Type 170 Freighters; Gunship and amphibious AEW.
Bomber and ASW, possible fire/water bomber.
As there is aftermarket kits for the Lockheed S-3A which fit.
Should have named it the Bristol Beagle.

The Silent Eagle looks a likely candidate or even a EF-15G.

Been watching YouTube, the Avro Shackleton bomber with upper turrets fore and aft. Possible turret under the nose and rear. Using the spares from the KC-97K kit.

An ambitious project would be a a four door E-type. Seen a picture. Got a Jaguar Mk2 in the stash. A swap would be great. Might need a donor vehicle.

One of the 1/144 Airfix hovercrafts would make an ideal vehicle for the Revell 1/144 Space Shuttle.

Recap,
Based on the Airfix Bristol Mk32 Super freighter.
Parts added;
Airfix Lockheed S-3A/B Viking-landing gear
Revell Lockheed Neptune- tail and turbojets
Italeri Fairchild AC-119 K- guns and lumps & bumps
Magna resin vertical tail fin Mk21.

The Gunship has a nose wheel with the two turbojets mounted above the wings.
Just needs tidying up for the paint stage.

McColm

Well the undercarriage keeps snapping off, back to the set in the kit.

With my win on eBay the turbojet Shackleton or should that be Shackletrain as it will be a civil airliner. Another turboprop Carlton possible four engine bomber.
Jet powered flying boat 'Emily'.
As I've got no more room, I can concentrate on the builds.

Got some shelves on order.
Got hold of some two part filler, should have used that on the amphibious Constellation build would have saved a lot of aggrovation.
The RR Tyne engines from the Revell 1/72 Br1150 Atlantic are now in place on the Sea Moose. The filler is the type when wetted goes smooth and can be shaped, could be miliput but I lost the box.

The Beagle Gunship has a new undercarriage, the jet pods broke off and will be replaced with something from the B-47 kit.

Back to work on Wednesday, got the bank holiday Monday off and going to visit the Hogwarts' Express steam locomotive in it's new location on Wednesday week with a few of my housemates.

The Triumph Lynx has always been at the back of my mind to build. Getting hold of a plastic 1/24 or 1/25 is a rare find. Finding a compatible hatchback that fits without too much trouble was a freak. I have no idea that the Monogram 1/25 snap-tite Shelby Charger Turbo would be a donor vehicle.
Both kits are second hand.
The Charger becomes a convertible, that's if the hardtop from the Jaguar XK-E doesn't fit.

As to the XJ4 concept, by moving the windscreen forward, I can get the upper body from the Jaguar MK2 to fit. All dry fits for now. The MK2 would look good as a convertible.

It sure would, but in the real world it would break in half!  :o

The Jag Mk 2 body shell was pretty early in Jaguar's monocoque steel body shell design history and it was somewhat less than wonderful around the B-C post base. At the very least you'd have to make it a 2 door, with maybe the doors lengthened somewhat for access to the rear seats.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)
